She can see Kei and is amazed by him being a sparkly firefly man. And so Uta realizes he likes being an Ayakashi. So in order to grow as an Ayakashi, he wanted to leave the village. At school Horikawa tries to talk with Uta but he avoids him. After a long pause, he admits he once fell in love with a human woman.
Rin apologizes to Horikawa for yesterday and he asks if he was able to speak with him. Rin keeps trying to teach him how to write hiragana but he gets frustrated, so Gin suggests they do an exchange diary to get him to practice writing. From that moment onwards, the story begins. Uta gets pissed and suddenly Rin cheers him on. He prefers to be alone so always reluctantly joins everyone for dinner.
They bring Yuichi back to his classroom and Chiko recognizes him but Yuichi can no longer see him. In fact nobody remembers the disaster that wiped the village and the fact that Rin went back in time to prevent it, the horror! He then kills her to put her out of her misery. At the school festival Uta tells Rin that the following year he wants to go on a training journey with Nagi and leave the village for a while. Soon Uta appears in his dog-like form to kill the demon just before he can harm Rin. He then ate any humans that had spiritual powers ability to see ayakashi and gained the strength to then go wild and attack random humans in the village.
They also then get with the boku and try to make him feel better by getting him to help throw Asagi a welcome party. He then hugs her closely and Rin starts crying in his arms. Uta is surprised to see her and then starts to lick off all her wounds claiming that doing so will make them heal faster. Anyway as they live together they go around Japan preventing villages from being wiped by natural disasters together and a legend is born. Oh and also turns out his fiance Chie was actually an ayakashi who decided to be with him because she wanted to stop him from being foreveralone. His father somehow survived but the mother died with the baby.
They get new seats, and the one seat Rin gets put into is known for being bullied by some kind of ayakashi. Guren then tells them how he found some girl he plans to abduct to make his wife and Rin rages at him that he needs to actually meet the girl and get to know her first. At night though he finally comes out and Rin gives him leftovers and as they talk she accidentally blurts out that she likes him. However if you pick choices where you thank Gin and granny for their hospitality and realize that eating food with everyone is the bees knees, Rin grows up to be a genki girl who loves to cook and eat. They give excuses after babbling like dorks until Gin comes and yells at them to go to bed.
So as it turns out, this ayakashi buster Handa, is on a mission to destroy ayakashi because his fiance got killed by an ayakashi and he went to jail because nobody believed him since not everyone can see them. And so finally on their way home on the empty train, they finally have their first kiss :P. Gin approves and they begin studying for their entrance exams. The last and final route! Apparently this match of theirs has started quite an uproar among other Ayakashi since Nagi is known as a strong god and it seems foolish for Uta to challenge him. After L leaves Rin tries to ask Yomi what he wa doing and he just shrugs her off.
When she gets off at Momiji station, she sees a sign on the station that there was a natural disaster there and the station is the only thing left. Kamisama Omake — The shrine god is bored so he goes around trying to socialize but everyone runs away from him. Tsuzuri feels bad so he asks Gin to help him make something for Rin and Chiko decides to join in. After some silence, Uta hesitantly asks Rin if he can kiss her. In the corner of a certain village where ayakashi and humans coexist, there is a shop that serves meals for ayakashi.
But no, this random asshole comes into the game, says some bullshit and Rin believes him immediately. Rin admires the stars and Uta suddenly gets quiet all of a sudden. One day while Rin is shopping for Gin, she decides to take a detour to meet with Nagi. After the side chara stuff, we finally get to see Rin and Haginosuke go on a date at the summer festival. For a god like him, changing a race would be easy. Nagi tells them that he should wake up tomorrow and notice something interesting then. Though strangely enough, Uta has a bit of a sullen look on his face.
Rin worked hard on her studies as Uta continued to trained over summer. Suoh then begins reading books he borrowed from Haginosuke about various types of jobs he can take on after high school. He wanted their first kiss to be a day full of a fun and happy memories. She finds him looking lonesome in a classroom and decides to call out to him. It then shows Uta thanking Rin for being there and showing him how to love.
