Well, Samsung just made its newest Galaxy S9 and S9+ official, and the handsets prices are really closing in on Apple's tags. You saw for the and yesterday, bu they are not set in stone. Best Buy will knock $100 of the price if you pre-order on Friday. Again, this is for Best Buy US. We checked the Canadian store, but there’s no such deal there. Source:

OnePlus 6 v Galaxy S9: Which will be best and which should you buy? ONEPLUS is about to unleash its high-spec yet affordable OnePlus 6 on May 16th to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S9. Should the high-end handset manufacturers be worried? We take a look at the rumours and leaks and here's our early verdict.
The is getting ever closer with it expected to bring top specs for a very affordable price. Usually OnePlus cuts a corner somewhere to make that saving but this year could be different with a phone that's expected to be packed full of technology and that's bad news for the Android competition incuding Samsung's Galaxy S9.
We’ve rounded up all there is to know on the OnePlus 6 so far and compared it to the Samsung's current flagship to see which could be best and if OnePlus can really take on the might of the Galaxy. OnePlus 6 will have a lower price than the Samsung Galaxy S9 Despite still being at the rumour stage, it’s a fair bet to say that OnePlus will undercut Samsung when it comes to price. That’s what the Chinese phone manufacturer is famous for.
The base model Samsung Galaxy S9 with 64GB is priced at £739. Not cheap, even if it does undercut the £999 iPhone X by a good amount. Based on leaks of OnePlus 6 pricing in India, where there was a three to twelve percent increase in price, that would put the UK price for a 64GB base model OnePlus 6 at about £460 to £505. This will likely be the first £500 OnePlus phone, even though the OnePlus 5T was £450. So either way it’ll undercut the Galaxy S9.
OnePlus 6 LEAKED photos, concept images, renders REVEAKED Sun, January 21, 2018 OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed the next-generation OnePlus handset will launch by the end of Q2 2018, which runs from April 1st to June 30th. Lau has also confirmed the processor that will power the next-generation handset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. OnePlus 6 design will rival Samsung Galaxy S9 One of the things that the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has tweeted about is that the OnePlus 6 will use new materials and offer a “premium hand feel”.
While an all metal unibody is likely, there should also be a glass coating much like the Galaxy S9. Lau said: "The advantages of glass over metal are manifold: glass communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling.” OnePlus India tweeted saying “Don’t you just hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains?
So do we.” So we can expect the OnePlus 6 to be at least IP68 water and dust resistant, like the Galaxy S9. Both phones will have USB-C and a rear placed fingerprint reader as well as a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack port.
OnePlus 6 will have a notch screen, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S9 Infinity Display Apple put a notch on its iPhone X so now it’s cool to do and it looks like the OnePlus 6 will do the same.
This has been confirmed by OnePlus. In fact it’s even clarified that users will have a software option to blank out the notch section of the screen if they want to. Samsung is a winner when it comes to screens, since it manufactures them for lots of brands. The S9 has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED that’s HDR10 ready with 1440 x 2960 resolution for 570ppi – a tough set of specs to beat. OnePlus typically makes a saving on its screens by going for a less high resolution and LCD build.
Since the OnePlus 6 features an iPhone X style notch there is a chance it will also feature that phone’s OLED screen. That should mean low-power consumption, rich colours and potentially HDR too. Will the OnePlus 6 feature a QHD display? Generally a good measure is to see what China’s Oppo does and expect OnePlus to follow. Since the Oppo R15 sports a 2280 x 1080 display we’re expecting OnePlus do go for similar meaning this could be on a par with the Galaxy S9. OnePlus 6 battery life and speed should beat Samsung Galaxy S9 When it comes to speed OnePlus has already spoken out publicly by saying this is something that the phone will be all about.
Since we get the , it may be nice to get a chance to enjoy the speed and battery performance of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU which should be in the OnePlus 6. While the Galaxy S9 tops out at 4GB of RAM it sounds like the OnePlus 6 will come toting a hefty 6GB of RAM (like the Galaxy S9 Plus). This combined with that octa-core Snapdragon 845 CPU should mean the OnePlus 6 is not only fast but could be one of the fastest phones ever.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 battery is a non removable 3,000mAh unit. Not bad but for that screen size it could be bigger. The OnePlus 6 is expected to come with a 3,450mAh like the Oppo R15. This, combined with that super efficient Snapdragon 845 CPU should mean a really impressive battery performance.
OnePlus 6 camera could beat Samsung Galaxy S9 snapper While the Samsung Galaxy S9+ comes with a dual rear camera, the S9 has a single 12MP camera. That’s not a bad thing though as it offers HDR video recording, f/1.5/2.4 aperture variation and dual pixel tech which all adds up to great quality snaps even in low light. The OnePlus 6 has had a few pictures shared online already and they look impressive with some great background blur effects. This is thanks to a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP and 20MP set of sensors which makes this one of the most powerful cameras on a smartphone.
This is, again, based on the OnePlus 6 following the specs of the Oppo R15. Like the Samsung Galaxy S9, the OnePlus 6 should also come with super slow motion video recording for 960p motion. OnePlus 6 Android experience should be better than Samsung Galaxy S9 When it comes to Android, Samsung is pretty slow to offer the latest software updates and when it does they are usually covered in Samsung skins.
This is not a good thing. OnePlus, on the other hand, likes to keep Android as pure as possible with the Oxygen OS skinning a few changes that are actually useful. Generally this OS also offers customisation so the user gets to pick what’s wanted. Expect the OnePlus 6 to launch with Android Oreo the same as the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Verdict It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S9 may be knocked off its spot as one of the best phones out there once the OnePlus 6 makes an appearance. If the OnePlus 6 manages to offer a top quality and high resolution screen on top of those promised speeds, excellent dual camera and low £500 price, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 doesn't stand a chance.
OnePlus is set to unveil the new phone on May 16th.
In any case, the Galaxy S9 features a "reimagined" variable aperture camera, faster chipset, and new color options, while the S9+ adds a dual camera for the first time in the flagship S-line history, but all that jazz won't come cheap, as you can see from the pricing breakdown below. Sprint hasn't announced its S9/+ prices yet, but both handsets will be included in the Galaxy Forever program, so stay tuned.

The price is the exact same as last year. And whatever people say, they fixed all what was wrong with the s8( camera, speakers, fingerprint scanner). Even the screen is new and improved and you get 6GB RAM and dual camera on plus variant.
The processor is brand new as well, especially the exynos is impressive. I don't know what people were expecting. But that's about what you expect in a year. posted on 25 Feb 2018, 12:53 6
