Just got your WD to Fresh Level 70 Witch Doctor? Now what? Your goal is to get your FREE SET ASAP. In this guide, you’ll learn exactly what to do for each step, ultimately leading to the end-game as your Fresh 70 Witch Doctor. In Season 15, the Witch Doctor free set is: . Fresh 70 Witch Doctor: | | | | | Fresh 70 Witch Doctor: Getting the Free Set! Click below to reveal the instructions you need for each step: Helltooth, heck all Witch Doctor sets, have no problems moving up the difficulty ladder.
You should be able to complete the season journey without any hitch. Now, for the items your Witch Doctor will need, make sure all items have INT VIT on them. Since WD is an INT class, you better make sure you have Armor rolled in your items, too. You can find them on Chest, Legs, Boots, Belt, and Shoulders. No legendary items looted?
Don’t worry! All you need are decent yellows with the proper stat on them. 2H Mace: a good 2h mace should have Life on Hit on it. It will go hand in hand with .
You chanced upon a good 1Hander instead? Keep it just in case you got yourself a nice mojo, or vice versa. Life per hit: Got it on your weapon already? Good! If not, feel free to roll it anywhere. You can also get them in helm, ring, neck, wrist and hand. Again, it’s for YOU NEED AT LEAST 1 BIG LpH ROLL or 2 SMALL ONES. NOT HAVING LIFE PER HIT will make your life CONSIDERABLY harder.
Cold%. Have this on wrists and/or amulet. This improves your main damaging skill which will eventually be . Belt is a huge source of defense as well. INT VIT ARMOR LIFE% > RES . Rings and Amulet: Sockets! In preparation for legendary gems. We’re looking for INT, Socket and any “needed” stats. Accessories are a great place to cover for your weakspots as they roll almost any stat. Chest and legs should have sockets, too. Witch Doctors are an INTELLIGENCE CLASS so they get free ALL RESISTS.
Therefore, ARMOR is the better defensive stat on gear. HEAVILY FAVOR Armor over ALLRES when weighing gear against each other. Rerolling your gear, whether crafted or looted, will make clearing seasonal journey chapters easier. A lot of people forget rerolling yellows is a thing, and it’s cheap too. If you’re not allowed to put two skills on your bar because they’re from the same category – FEAR NOT! This isn’t a bug or a permanent in-game restriction. You simply have to CHECK ON ELECTIVE MODE, via Esc > Options > Gameplay > Elective Mode!
Binding Force Move to Mousewheel up & down is a value change that every player should make IMO. It prevents misclicks and skill misfires, and forces you to move to where otherwise an enemy might be.
Here’s an overview of what you should accomplish per chapter for this season. Or press Shift+J in game to check. Fresh 70 WD: Fresh 70 No Set Build Skills Rune (Any) (Open) (Any) / (Any) Passives Set your game to Hard difficulty. I know I mentioned that WD won’t have any problems during the early game, but why make things difficult? Only increase difficulty when needed. Chapters 1 & 2. Entries here are pretty basic. Just to make things easier, I personally complete the bounties at around L60 so I can also tag the the bosses we have to “nyerk”.
Got a bounty in Ruins of Sescheron? Drop by on the next floor, Elder Sanctum, and unlock Kanai’s Cube. Check your items if they have the proper rolls on them! See our reminder tab on above! Helltooth Harness 2 piece Set Build Skill Rune (Any) ( ) Passives Helltooth 2pc is stupidly strong.
A free, brainless 1500% DoT is extremely powerful and will single-handedly carry you thru these early parts (and beyond). What most people forget is that primary skills apply this. Hello . There’s just a couple of noteworthy entries in this chapter. Kill bosses, Neph on Master, and bounties. Do the bounties first. Unlike the other 2, bounties can be done on Hard mode.
Complete on Master difficulty: • Beat a Nephalem Rift: You can change to more “security”, but it doesn’t matter really. • Beat the Bosses • Skeleton King (Act I, The Royal Crypts) • Ghom (Act III, The Keep Depths Level 3) Finish up the other entries if you haven’t and let’s get on to the next chapter! Helltooth Harness 4 piece Set Build Skill Rune (any) ( ) Passives Helltooth 4pc gives us huge damage reduction. It doesn’t change our build. The above listed is the highest impact “well balanced” setup you can get.
Some rune changes on or are purely optional, feel free to explore. The build above packs a punch, and a ton of speed. While GR20 is the highlight in this chapter, we still need to get some things done. Upgrade a Rare to Legendary w/ Kanai’s Cube: Upgrade a 2H mace and hope you’ll get . Or . You could also go for Ceremonial Daggers for Sacred Harvester. Complete a Torment I Rift: This should be a breeze…This will also be your new minimum torment when farming for stuff.
Equip yourselves with good rare items and you can go higher. Set Difficulty to Torment II: Beat Urzael, in Act V, Westmarch Heights Set Difficulty to Torment IV: No need to kill chumps along the way!
just go straight to these bosses. • Kill Rakanoth – Act IV, Gardens of Hope 1st Tier • Kill Odeg the Keywarden – Act I, Fields of Misery • Kill Sokahr the Keywarden – Act II, Dahlgur Oasis • Kill Xah’Rith the Keywarden – Act III, Stonefort • Kill Nekarat the Keywarden – Act IV, Garden of Hope 2nd Tier • Keywardens maps have a key icon next to the waypoint. Purple arrows point you to their location after a short while once you’re in their respective map.
Complete the other requirements. If you’re still missing a couple of jewelcrafting recipes, just buy some from Squirt in Act II Town. Finally done with all other entries? Then let us obliterate Helltooth GR20! GR20 locked for you? Just do a couple of higher unlocked GRs. Tips and any advice pertaining to GR20 will be discussed on the next tab!
Click the clicky! See our video: Helltooth Harness GR20 4 piece Set Build Skill Rune Passives FIX PARAGONS: INT | CRIT | ALL RES | AD This is a little anti-climactic. Helltooth 4, along with that setup above make this a walk in the park. Even “semi-trash” to “meh, okay” level yellows are enough to carry you through this.
• Offense (sheet): 330,000 (min. lol… 250?~) • Toughness (sheet): 7,700,000 (min. lol… 5m?~) • Recovery (sheet): 220,000 (varies…) • MAINSTAT: 6600 • NO ‘special’ legendaries aside from the Helltooth Harness 4 set. • NO Pylons taken. • NO Legendary Gems. • NO Cubes powers used. • Remaining Time: 6 MINUTES 30 SECONDS! Offense numbers DO NOT take into consideration most Legendary Powers and Gems. But since I did it RAW – these will serve as a great estimation.
It wasn’t so bad. The only thing you actually need? Is one LIFE ON HIT roll for – it’s not STRICTLY required, but it adds a huge layer of SAFETY and to everything you do. Yes, I understand you can squeeze more damage in the build but why? Clearing this 30s faster or even 10 mins faster means nothing if you get bricked by bad elites. So don’t tell people you can clear GR20 faster – that’s a drop in the bucket, sir… Unless your yellows are TRASH TIER – you will clear.
See our video: Fresh 70 Witch Doctor: 6pc Free Set Build Helltooth Harness 6 piece Set Build Skill Rune (Open) / / Passives Options: can be anything but you may as well get used to it now.
Group ’em for cleaves. and both have tryhard and speed rune options. Passives: is pure defensive filler.
Change later on. So, now what!? Torment VI++: It’s time to push your Helltooth set to its max power.
This will now be your minimum speedfarming level. Increase torment as you see fit. A quick review before proceeding… Your jewelries have socket already? Get them! We’re gonna stick in legendary gems on them soon, if not now! Skill%? will be your main damage source. Even if you don’t feel it now, you may as well prepare for that. Gargantuan% appears in chest and shoulder.
INT > VIT > GARG% > ARMOR > is a decent priority. Elemental% is a possible 40% increase for 2 rerolls – you’re looking for COLD%, btw. Necklace: more often than not, they have sucky stats. While Cold%, CHC, CHD, Socket is quite a tall order, INT Socket and one of the others is good enough.
Weapon? While 2H Mace is the best option for these pet builds early on, only replace it once you get a great Ceremonial Dagger and/or Mojo. Life on Hit on your gear might be hard to obtain. At least have it either your bracers or weapon. Have it on your ring, too, if you can. Having the “correct” stats on your items will have a much higher impact on your game. Reroll usable items with the Mystic. Armor: As an INT CHARACTER, Armor serves a very real purpose.
INT does not give ARMOR, it gives ALLRES. Try to get Armor in Legs, Belt, and Boots. You NEED some armor for your late game defenses to shine. It’s a luxury now but it’s something you’d wanna know, right? Gaining Power! We now need to gain as much power as we can. Legendary Gems One way to gain power is using Legendary gems! 3 of these legendary gems will grant you access to higher torments. Get these three to L25 ASAP: , , .
: Should be left at 25~ in the early game, and should be leveled sparingly. Level this up to 25 first if you can, since its L25 bonus is huge, and doesn’t scale well past that. : This does it all. Makes your pets nigh invulnerable (yes, they actually die later on), and increases your damage by a HUGE amount. No-brainer for any pet build. : cold rune (you know, the one we recommended in the table above…) makes short work of triggering the slow we need to reap the damage bonus. Defensive gem? If defenses are a problem, simply interchange with .
Any other gems worth it? : You might be forced to use this sooner or later. Higher level Rift Guardians can take a while, and this is the answer right here. : Is a hard carrying defensive gem which serves you well at any point. : NEEDED for efficient speedfarming. Luckily, Helltooth is an amazing set for just that… Stops at L50 so that’s great.
( See: | | ) Aside from the gems listed above, any other gem is considerably worse. GR 34 is enough to get these gems to level 25. Just go for efficient farming and cheap empowering.
With 3 of your best gems at L25 – try much higher Torment levels. So now the real farming begins! Playing the Build & Adjustments Here I’m gonna list 2 main things. Some tips on how to play better with the build, and various build adjustments you might need as you progress and pick up more items. Helltooth isn’t THAT strict on build so you can be creative with fillers… Here we discuss Playstyle Notes and build Build Adjustments.
Summon your boys and go ham. That’s it! There are many intricacies to the build but you’ll only ever remotely need them if you go waaaay up. Here’s a few small tips. – don’t let it fall off. You don’t need ANY CDR to keep the Helltooth 6 buff on 100% of the time. It’s only the little thing called “laziness” that makes it fall off. Frozen sucks – Yes they can be frozen and it’s bad news for you.
Try to “port” your boys to safety before they get iced, it’s a massive loss of DPS! Teleporting your friends or “porting” occurs after you travel a short distance from their location. I’m sure you know of this by now… It’s worth mentioning anyway. – Invulnerability for the most part. This is the most OP defensive skill, and when tryharding the rune is an obscenely long “defensive” cooldown.
More offense or Mana needed? Offense is usually categorized in Damage or, indirectly, Resource Gain. The build is fully packed on “practical” sources of damage. If you want to increase your DPS further you can try the following, but I can’t really recommend what to remove… comes with the keyword “Confidence” in it. I honestly cannot recommend any other minimal skill or rune changes to accommodate more damage this early on. More defense needed? Defense is usually categorized in either Toughness or Self-healing capability.
is also extremely good in keeping yourself healthy, and also currently recommended in the build above. It single handedly carries these types of WD builds for such a minimal cost. As you’ll soon find out damage gets insane really quickly. (already listed above) helps out with this – increasing the range actually does a lot. should be used in tryharding, replacing . is the ultimate survival tool for WD’s. The problem is you actually need to have a decent BASE ARMOR RATING.
Meaning having this on Belt, Legs, Boots (and sometimes maaaaaybe, chest). Ancients also have a higher Armor rating, so you’ll notice this more a bit later on. It’s great to keep in mind. – ain’t no shame in this. If constant one-shots are getting ya, then this may be the best choice to facilitate more brainless (less salty) play.
More mobility needed? Mobility and Speed shouldn’t be focused on THIS EARLY. It’s a luxury for a Fresh 70 Witch Doctor. But when you can fit them in, consider these… is the ultimate go-to WD mobility skill. A simple rune change does so much, at little cost.
If you’re not pushing GR, this is the rune to use. is a godlike speed passive that should find its way into your build for bounties or other when you’re speedfarming. Any other changes for speed at this point is too greedy and I can’t recommend it. ( See: | | ) Items to look for Okay now that the easy part of powering up is done, it’s time for the farmy bit.
Here I will be listing all the high-impact items you can pick up, and how to get them (aside from drops). Core Reminder: informing you as early as now that is just too powerful – look out for ‘it! This ring singlehandedly “triples” your DPS. Using Blood Shards: Since you got a free Helltooth 6, it’s time to patch up the extra pieces – IS EXTREMELY RARE. It’s the absolute best thing you can pull out of Kadala’s butt, so I’m listing it high up here. The problem?
The rarity on this thing will make you pull your hair out. A TRICK I USE is to ask for help PL’ing an L31 WD. Spend blood shards for helmet on this guy for a greater chance of .
It’s gonna be cubed anyway. from Gloves is a super godlike pickup as well this early on. While the use of this in the ultra end-game is debatable, there’s some serious gains to have here. Using and in the same build requires . Bracers: is good for pretty much any WD, and our end-game item. Oh, you can get here too, which pretty much what you’ll be using most of the time (speedfarming) until you actually NEED the damage reduction on .
isn’t as good as it sounds, but serves as a good filler in the same pile. Belt: Quite a few good belts here and there. Personally, my favorite at this point in the game is . is another amazing defensive option, too providing more little guys to tank for us. is the tryhard belt of choice. is never bad to have, either. Just reminding you of the Bounty Rings: • from Act I Bounties – allows for more filler items.
• from Act III Bounties – great for speedfarming. Using Death’s Breath – Rare to legendary: Upgrading Ceremonial Knife – for is the end-game plan. +5 stacks of is pretty huge and gets better the higher our base INT is. There’s a couple cute fillers here, nothing actually worth mentioning (which is why I recommend 2H Mace).
Upgrading Mojo – for any number of usable legendaries helps out. , and are ALL usable. But they’re all gonna suck if you don’t have a 1-hander to use ’em with which is why this step goes last. ALSO because we try to get these with Blood Shards, as well. Coincidentally, Ceremonial Knife and Mojo also give us , of which we can easily make a temporary bounty build from.
Lastly, Upgrading 2H Mace – hopefully gets us . Also, is an amazing filler we might get along the way. The Classics: Good for any type of newer character, and even the most battle-hardened of builds. : “Break” your 6-piece to make space for a good filler item! Or you know… ! (, too) Accessory Sets: – or . Completing any of these 2-sets is a vast power jump. +100%++ is substantial for only 2 slots. : Good ‘ol . Wear it, Kanai it, as a filler or till the end of time.
Learning to maximize in any build you choose is a turning point for higher GR’s. : Straight 50% damage reduction in the cube. Too bad you need two of ’em. Just reminding you of the bounty rings: • : Act I bounties, to fit all our greed. • : Act III bounties, for speedfarming. + +: I don’t care how many times I have to remind you about this combo. Bridging to the End-Game So you skipped a whole chunk of the powering up phase with the free set.
Now what? Like I always say, “ Speedfarming first before pushing GR’s”. So, convert what you have NOW to be as speedfarmy as possible, first. • • • Other Witch Doctor Guides: • • | • | • | • | Check out our for other resources. Fresh 70 Witch Doctor: | | | | You can now start farming for items (getting ancient legendaries, death’s breath, materials for kanai-ing). Long term goals are up to you really. You can aim to climb the WD leaderboard, complete the season journey (shift+J) to get stash tab/s or just complete achievements (Y).
It depends on you. This guide is to help you somehow beef up your fresh 70 witch doctor, with or without the free set, so you could go clear higher torments asap. Once you’ve completed the above, you can even try other Witch doctor set builds or classes. hi! its just the basic paragon priorities. Core – Primary stat > Vit > Move speed (depends, 25 points at most) > Max Resource (optional). all other points will be placed in primary Offense – CHC > CHD > CDR > Attack Speed Defense – Res All > Life > Armor > Life Regen Utility – Area Damage > RCR > LoH > Gold Find I am using Z6 and have tried to follow this guide as closely as possible but I just can’t seem to get my fetishes up past 8.
I am using haunt and I spam it liberally and move around and stuff. I tried acid rain but it just doesn’t work for me that well because it is not fire and forget like haunt (targeting issues) and I run out of mana so quickly and then stand there twiddling my thumbs.
So not sure what I am missing because I am trying different things but since my gems got to 25 I can’t get past GR40 (T7) in time and that feels like I am behind the curve. Advice? Suggestions? Appreciation in advance and thanx for the bitchin’ guide 🙂

Update: The Season is now live. Have fun, everyone! Season 15 begins on September 21! For those among you who enjoy the fresh start a Season brings, we wanted to give you a glimpse of what to expect before you race out the gate as we continue to evolve and bring new things to Themed Seasons! New Season Theme Season 15 will continue the experiment we began last season with a new seasonal buff.
This time, for the duration of Season 15, all Horadric Caches earned from bounties will be doubled. This means that each time you complete a full set of five bounties in an Act, you will receive not one, but two Horadric Caches, for twice the bounty rewards!
There are a few things to keep in mind with this effect: • The bonus cache does benefit from difficulty level; it is essentially as though you completed twice the bounties.
• The rewards inside the Horadric Caches are otherwise unaffected; drop rates or the amount of individual rewards have not been altered. • The bonus cache earned from Challenge Rifts is not affected; this is a separate type of cache. Need a refresher on the rewards contained inside a Horadric Cache? Check out our for a list of bounty-exclusive Legendary items and more information on the Bounty system.
In addition to doubling up your Horadric spoils, other celebrations may spring up across the globe that celebrate the nature of this theme! Be sure to keep a close eye on and for more information as we move into Season 15! New Cosmetic Rewards As per tradition, Season 15 will introduce new cosmetic rewards, obtainable by progressing through the Season Journey. In addition to the Chest and Glove slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, a brand-new series of portrait frames themed around the struggle of the Eternal Conflict will be available.
For the eager cosmetic pet collectors, we thought you could use a hand. Belphegor is eager to keep a grip on your coin as it accompanies you on your adventures across Sanctuary! Season Journey Rewards If you’ve been diligently slaying demons for the past few Seasons and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs by now. But players who have not yet earned a total of four stash tabs via the Season Journey can still unlock an additional one by completing the following tasks at the Conqueror tier: • Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within 5 minutes • Level three Legendary Gems to level 55 • Complete 2 Conquests this Season • Kill Malthael at level 70 in 1 minute and 30 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty • Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty • Reach Greater Rift level 60 Solo • Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem • Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item Seasonal Conquests Speaking of Conquests, we’re rotating those, too!
Returning for Season 15 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete all of Diablo III’s campaign from Act I to Act V at level 70 in under 1 hour! Next, we have Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. Boss Mode/Worlds Apart is a different kind of race; destroy all the bosses in Diablo III at max level on Torment X before your 20-minute timer ends!
A fan-favorite for those who enjoy unconventional builds, The Thrill/Superhuman requires completion of a Greater Rift level 45 to be completed Solo, but without any Set items equipped. Finally, Masters of the Universe/Masters of Sets stretches your class set knowledge by requiring a Mastery Rank completion of 8 different Set Dungeons; get ready to start collecting! Haedrig’s Gift Finally, the Class Sets available for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more.
We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you will receive depends on the Class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift.
To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 15: • Barbarian – Wrath of the Wastes • Crusader – Roland’s Legacy • Demon Hunter – Unhallowed Essence • Monk – Raiment of a Thousand Storms • Necromancer – Bones of Rathma • Witch Doctor – Helltooth Harness • Wizard – Tal Rasha’s Elements Frequently Asked Questions Q: When does Season 15 start?
