Whether you're visiting Alaska for business or leisure, find everything you need for an unforgettable experience at SpringHill Suites Anchorage University Lake.

Nestled at the base of the Chugach Mountain range with a peaceful lakefront setting, our hotel is the ideal place to relax. Our convenient location places you within walking distance to Alaska Native Medical Center, Alaska Pacific University and Alaska Airlines Center. Take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, the train depot and downtown.

Retreat to modern rooms and suites boasting spectacular views of the area's beauty plus 25% more space than standard hotel rooms. Accommodations also feature free Wi-Fi, luxury bedding and separate spaces to sleep and work. Start your day by fueling up at our free breakfast buffet. Our 24-hour fitness center and indoor pool will help you get your daily exercise. SpringHill Suites Anchorage University Lake aims to exceed your expectations during your stay.

Cons: Rural Alaska communities lack many basic amenities, one being swimming pools. Alaska families like to book with hotels with swimming pools. This brings lots of children as most families are 3 to 5 children.

As such it can be somewhat boisterous in the hallways. The doors are heavy and close loudly. The inroom wall heaters are nice but somewhat loud in the fan noise. Cons: The TV never worked during the entire stay. Staff was notified and I was told that "upgrades" to the system were being made, but apparently they never reached my room. The pool/spa was also closed during the entire stay.

For the price you pay here ($200+/night), one might expect better planning when doing work on amenities that travelers are paying for. Whether you're visiting Alaska for business or leisure, find everything you need for an unforgettable experience at SpringHill Suites Anchorage University Lake.

Pros: Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels, and the Anchorage location is no exception. The rooms are clean and quiet. The shuttle was a lifesaver. The fitness room was excellent, as was the pool. On this trip we really relied on the laundry facilities and were pleased there were enough washers/dryers so there wasn't a wait to use them or it was very little. Since we traveled in the summer, we also relied on the blackout shades. It was a phenominal experience! Pros: Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels, and the Anchorage location is no exception.

Our luggage didn't make our plane either. We got to the hotel after midnight, the staff was excellent! They were able to give us tooth brushes, toothpaste, shaving cream and razor. Cons: The alarm clock went off twice during the night - once at 3:00 and once at 3:15. Having flown in from 30 hours of travel from overseas, looking for a good night stay was the intention.

The staff was unsympathetic and completely removed from the reality of the housekeeping blunder. Having not slept but 3 hours that night, their best offer was a gift card to stay again, stating that "We can't give you a refund - you used it, plus we could have rented the room to someone else." Give me a break.

This Anchorage, Alaska hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants including TGI Fridays, Lone Star and Applebee's to name a few. Cons: Bed and breakfast as a concept is great because you get to know people and it's usually cheaper then a hotel (not in this case).

The price was a little high compering it to a 5 star hotel in Los Angeles (and for no reason). There is a clean fee of 35$ that we didn't know about in advance. The room was not cleaned while we were there so I don't see a point for charging it. The place is far from every thing. Plenty of complimentary parking and.Alaska Airline Miles with every stay. Pros: The building was just built earlier this year, but was already showing signs of wear and lack of upkeep. Our room was comfortable and quiet on the back side of the building.

The hallways, stairways, and elevators looked like they had not be vacuumed or cleaned in a week. There was cracker crumbs on the carpet next to the bed. There were some very noisy and guest staying on our floor the slammed doors and yelled in the hall most of the night. I will not stay there again. The rooms and the entire hotel seemed a bit dated. I stayed on the Captains Deck and the rooms were a bit small and did not impress.

The sink did not drain properly. The most disappointing part of the trip was the breakfast which was never more than like warm at best. It come from the kitchen which is far away.

The breakfast had 3 warm choices and one was always potatoes that were recycled from the night before. Not sure if I would spend that kind of money to stay at that hotel again. The friendly staff at the Hilton Anchorage hotel is ready to welcome you with Alaska's warm hospitality. Welcome to the Hilton Anchorage, Alaska Hotel! Travel should take you places! Cons: The staff reception was one of the worst I had ever experienced anywhere in the world.

We were not greeted for about five minutes despite the fact that they were not busy. We made eye contact with several staff however, they never came to the desk to assist us. One staff member at the counter, was too busy trying to assist a contractor (not a guest) and completely ignored us.

When we finally did get service, the staff member did not appreciate that we had waited so long. Then, to add insult to injury, the rooms we had requested (adjoining rooms for our children) were obviously not arranged and it took the manager about ten minutes to sort it out.

Cons: The hotel is very run down and looks to have not been upgraded in awhile. The rooms were dirty and falling apart. Wall paper in the rooms was coming off. There was dirt and dead mosquitos all over.

One bed had a plywood backing on the wall to keep it tight. The lock on the door was loose.Paid extra because it was the hilton, but did not get my money worth. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. Cons: I found the amenities more lacking than I'd expected. I was pretty sure I saw cable TV listed, but the remote control's guide feature didn't work, and there weren't many channels.

There was no mini-fridge; I thought those were pretty much standard in any hotel above "motor lodge" class. The toiletries (shampoo, body wash, etc) came out of dispensers). There were only a few cheap plastic cups in the room...so cheap that two of them were cracked and unusable before I even got them out of the plastic wrapper.

I also expected parking to be included; instead, it was an extra 12 bucks. That's not awful, but for $100 a night you should be able to toss in parking. Guest room amenities include coffee-maker, desk and TV. Suites and handicapped accessible rooms are also available. There is no charge for children 17 and under when staying with an adult. Pros: The first room was not vacuumed and to small for the five of us.

Fortunately the family didn't complain. We were only there for 12 hours and that was enough. It was just a pace to flop and to allow us to see downtown Anchorage. I should have paid the $70 more for the Hilton downtown. The woman at the front desk moved us immedistely to a larger room with a rollaway bed. She was very pleasant and helpful. She made our stay there bare able . Kudos to her. Cons: When I arrived at 9:30 pm, people were just sorta hanging out in the dimly lit parking lot. The car next to mine had interior lights on with no one inside.

There was ~$60 in cash scattered around on the ground by the driver's door. I went inside and told the font desk attendant before she gave me my hotel key and she said she'd look into it. When I arrived at my room, I opened the door and found a pantless man laying in one of the beds.

I apologized, walked downstairs and informed the front desk lady after she returned from the parking lot. crime scene. She apologized and asked if the pantless man was, "...at least good looking". I actually thought that was really funny- And this night was just getting stranger! She gave me another key and promised the room would be empty. On the elevator ride up, I got to hang out with two mildly drunk/drugged out early 20-somethings before arriving at my room. The bed was comfy but the heat didn't work.

In an Alaskan hotel in October..the heat didn't work. Sigh...so I bundled up, enjoyed the comfy bed while the majority of my fellow hotel guests partied the night away. This is a weird place and if you're not up for that, stay far far away. Pros: The first room was not vacuumed and to small for the five of us.

Pros: Before we stayed at Anchorage Lofts Hotel we read a number of reviews that said the place was dirty, damaged and otherwise unpleasant. For this reason we payed pretty close attention while we were there and didn't notice any of these offenders.

We stayed two nights, my boyfriend and I in one room and his father in another. After inspecting the rooms and other parts of the hotel we only determined that it was simply old. The bathrooms, linens, floors and furniture were all clean. The service was adequate... we had no complaints. Pros: Really great hotel that is central to exploring the historical areas of anchorage.

The next block over is the statehood monument, city timeline, local history displays, giant carvings and statues, Alaska mint and photo ops. Also, shopping for local specialty items is all right there. Great breakfast!! Seemed mostly homemade, too. After inspecting the rooms and other parts of the hotel we only determined that it was simply old. The bathrooms, linens, floors and furniture were all clean. The service was adequate... we had no complaints. Cons: I kept trying to find something "wrong" with the place after reading bad reviews but the only thing "wrong" was that it seemed very worn down. There were paint chips off of the walls in some places, the carpet had wrinkled up, and a lot of the hotel seemed like it had been through partial renovation.

Everything was clean though, and everything worked in the rooms. I would say that if you're looking for a "fancy" place to stay, this doesn't quite make the cut, but for the price compared to the other hotels in the area it was definitely satisfactory. Cons: Moved to two different rooms. First room the refrigerator was missing. Second room, refrigerator did not work and our food spoiled.

Then we went to the pool. Apparently the pool was "under construction" so it was closed indefinitely ...the refrigerator and the pool were the primary reasons we booked at this hotel.

Cons: Hallways were dark and barely lit, entire hotel smelled like mold or just downright disgusting to the point where my 2 year old daughter kept commenting on it. Room smelled just as bad even with the window left open the entire stay. I suggest you take your business elsewhere, the puffin Inn is cleaner, and cost about the same.
