best dating anime series all time romance drama - Top 12 Romance Anime of All Time
One of the best serious drama/romance anime that’s out there. This is not a harem Anime despite the theme being love triangle. It is a serious romance story. It is a very beautiful story. Music is one aspect of this show as well. Everything is executed in a pretty awesome fashion. You get the atmosphere.
What a lot of generic romance/drama anime fail to do is create this atmosphere/mood that a romance drama should have. WA2 is one of the perfect example of what a successful romance dram should feel like. I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in either drama or romance to watch this. BTW, WA2 has nothing to do with the original White album. You should start watching White Album 2 episodes 1. I think this one is fairly popular now in the anime community.
I will keep it short. This is a simple yet beautiful story done right. The right execute. The feeling that is not over the top, yet powerful. Again, I feel like how an anime establishes the mood in a romance anime in particualr is very important. This was does it well too. Though, a very different feel to White Album 2 but not necessarily worse.
It’s just different. These are more strictly speaking romance + drama. A perfect fit for what you are looking for. But if you are looking for a little romance but a focus on drama, I can think of a few more good series. Warm, fussy vibe. Not necessarily heavy in romance but the drama and action in there is nice. There are 2 seasons to this anime. Romance and drama are used as a medium to convey the main philosophical ideas.
It is a very dramatic show. One of the best. Romance is not the main focus but it helps a LOT in conveying the ideas of the show. What is the show about?
Basically everything. A story about maturity, A confronting view on our society and what we take for granted, A dystopia future, human nature, the world we live in etc.
A LOT OF THEMES. It is life change. Personally changed my view on life. Sure, there are romance, in fact, bisexuality is depicted in the show briefly (1–2 scenes), but again don’t be turned down by it.
It helps to convey the themes. It is part of the themes. I won’t say exactly what because it will spoil the story. I would recommend you to watch the whole series. The first few episodes will be confusing but once you finished it, everything will make sense. You will have this grand ‘realization’. This would be more on the dramatic side. One of my favorite drama anime. Again, romance is in the anime but it is not the only genre. This is a very dramtic show.
Inspired by Shakespeare. If you are into drama, you should enjoy this. There are actions as well. But the beauty of this is the how dramatic the show can be without action. You will be at the edge of your seat, like shinsekai yori, the whole time. Even though, there are only characters talking. I was waiting for someone else to answer but I'll just go ahead and answer anyway.
I don't know if they are the best in your opinion or the general opinion, but I really liked Clannad and Clannad Afterstory. If you're not new to the genre you've probably heard of it, the first season is more of a light hearted comedic type, the second season starts out like that, but in the end the drama levels go up to 11. It's a series that will make you laugh and cry. It's amazing. And also Kanon (2006).
It's very similar to Clannad, because it's made by the same companies and artists. (Key/Visual Arts) It's my personal favorite series of all time and its many character arcs will move you emotionally. I never thought anything could out-do Clannad, until I finished Kanon. On a side note the anime Charlotte which was also made by Key/Visual arts, out-did Clannad in my opinion as well. Sorry for not doing plot synopses, I just don't like my posts getting too lenghty.
Just my personal opinion so I hope that was helpful. Again: Clannad Clannad Afterstory Kanon (2006) Charlotte This answer , of course , based on my opinion . Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) Makino Tsukushi is a 16-year old girl, from a mid-class family, who, due to her brains, gets into an ultra high-class school called Eitoku Gakuen.
One day she accidentally gets on the F4’s, a clique of four elite , popular and wealthy boys , and from then on she suffers from hazing. She fights this back, and while doing so falls in love with one of the F4’s members. However, another one of the members also falls in love with her.
Unfortunattely this show has ended after 6 seasons, but what a great series it was! One of my faves, still thinking about re-watching it someday as it has been years since the last time I watched it (it ended in 2012). Good actors, good storylines, lots of drama, mystery, love, hate..
Go watch it goddamn. It is so weird to think about this show as this show also ended a few years back after 5 seasons. It was a very good series and I always enjoyed watching it.
It envolved multiple different storylines for different friends, so there was always a story line going on which I really loved. Great show, I miss it. Very fun and easy show to watch :) I haven't watched it from the start, but just joined in a few seasons ago and loved it. You don't need to watch it from the start to get it, but I recommend going at least 2-5 seasons back, as those were the best storylines and seasons!
I think it is still on, but haven't watched it lately.
