The Best Dating Sites to Meet Filipinas Online. How to Attract a Filipino Girl. How to Get a Filipina Girlfriend. How to Date a Filipina Woman and Make Her Happy. Is Marrying a Filipina Girl a Good or a Bad Idea? How to Get a Filipina Wife: The Pinay Bride Guide However, from first-hand experience and from testing the biggest Filipina dating sites, I can say that there are five general types of women in this country. Have a look at them and decide for yourself who you want to date… 1. A True Filipina Lady aka The High Society Pinay Girl. The Philippines is not the richest country on earth The site is better for guys who are looking for a short romance and not for a wife. What if you are looking for a Filipina girlfriend or wife? FilipinoCupid is your best choice.
• Everywhere you go, beautiful women will stare, smile and giggle. Actually, some men will do this as well. • Filipinos and their bags are fully screened at security checkpoints. However, if you're a white guy in the Philippines, the officers will just greet you and smile. Then they'll wave you through without checking the contents of your giant, suspicious backpack. How could a white man possibly have bad intentions?
(Think: Timothy Mcveigh) • Taxi drivers will automatically stop when they see you on the sidewalk - whether you flag them down or not. • Speaking of taxis, if the drivers see a white man waiting next to a queue of Filipinos, they will often skip the Filipinos and pick up the white man first.
• They won't do it for Filipinos, but drivers will stop so that you can cross the street (it seems that hitting a white person is every Filipino driver's worst nightmare). • If a white guy in the Philippines gets a job, he can be half as qualified as Filipinos, and still get paid twice as much. • Caucasians seem to have automatic credibility, and are instant celebrities just about everywhere they go.
I heard a story which, unfortunately, is entirely believable. At a bar in Cebu, a very drunk foreigner walked over to a group of Filipinos and tried to talk to a pretty girl who was with her boyfriend. Despite the fact that she was already with a guy, the drunk foreigner demanded that she get up and dance with him. She politely declined and explained that she was there with her boyfriend and their friends. That was simply not acceptable to this man - he refused to accept that she wasn't interested in him.
After all...he's white, right? Again, he demanded, and even tried to drag her from the table onto the dance floor. When she firmly yelled "no!" to him, this jerk actually had the nerve to take his beer and DUMP it on her! This is what I'm talking about - the kind of mentality that some of these white men develop in the Philippines. I had to leave the city because this sense of entitlement sickened me so much. I didn't feel like I fit in with much of the expat community there. On a recent bus trip to Bacolod, I found the inspiration to write this article.
You see, I am 6ft 2 inches tall, and my legs are so long that they frequently hit the back of the seat in front of me. For me, legroom is hard to come by in the Philippines. I have adapted to it. Still, I thought about the many foreigners who would just complain in that situation. I remember watching a youtube video that a white guy in the Philippines made after living here for 3 years.
He ranted and complained about all the ways the country was "backward" and "disgusting". This video made me furious, because after all, this man was here for THREE YEARS! Why stick around and complain about it for 3 years when you can just leave after 2 weeks? My guess is that he enjoyed the economic advantages and attention from young girls. Afterward, he enjoyed the staggering web traffic generated by angering the "social media capital of the world".
Of course, the Philippines also has its share of decent, respectful foreigners. For the rest of you, however, please don't forget that you can always go home. In fact, I'll show you to the airport. I can speak a tiny bit of different Filipino languages. Sometimes I meet Filipinas married to foreigners, and this impresses them.
They have been living in the Philippines for years, but their husbands barely know how to say say "thank you" in Filipino. Perhaps they don't feel the need to learn the language. Perhaps they just expect the culture to adapt to them? If you are dating or married to a Filipina, please make an effort to connect with her culture. For goodness sake, this is your wife...possibly the mother of your children. At the very least, you will help to lift a barrier between you and her family.
I'm sure you know by now, family is everything in the Philippines. Filipinos have opened their homes, hearts, and minds to us. The least we can do is treat them with the respect that everybody deserves. In closing, there was a Chinese man who moved to the U.S. In the 1970s, he told his young daughters to always clean up after themselves and behave well. He said this because their actions reflected on all Chinese people.
For the same reason, I think being a white guy in the Philippines comes with some responsibility. Here in Asia, we represent not only our countries, but also our race. I try not to forget that.

Warmth, friendliness and cheerfulness are attributes that make Filipinos genuinely attractive. Physical beauty is just certainly a plus. This daunting task of putting up a list of the hottest Filipino guys is for 2015 only. And the year is not over yet! Many things can change.
Who knows who will make it again when we altogether convene to celebrate the Malakas in this part of the world?
I like looking out of open windows, feeling the breeze on my face and listening to the different sounds around me. I like taking in the scenery. I like stopping to look at the moon, to see how much of it is peaking out of the clouds. I like watching the foam of the waves on a beach and listening to the crash of the waves on the shore. I like seeing pinwheels spinning in the wind. I like watching the sun set at the end of yet another beautiful day. Most of all I like my Father’s whispers, reminding me He makes everything beautiful in his time.
This blog is a simple collection of beautiful things around me. Life has been rather colorful the past few months for me, and as some of you may know, some of the most colorful parts have come with dating . The dating life is definitely different from the single one, and dating David makes it even more challenging… err… interesting.
(I need to be careful. He reads every post – and has something to say about every single one!) Seriously, it’s been a lot of fun. I think one of the biggest reasons why we get on so well is that at the end of the day, despite us being two very flawed people, there is a clear desire to please God.
This helps guide us and keep our pride in check, which we both have a lot of. One funny thing I’ve noticed is how shocked many Filipinos are when they find out that David is 100% Filipino. A common exchange goes like this: Person: Do you have a boyfriend? Me: Yes. Person: Is he also here? Me: Yes! He’s Filipino. Person: As in full Filipino? Me: Yes! He’s 100% Filipino! This really made me think, “Why are so many people so surprised that I’m dating a 100% Filipino guy? What’s so surprising about that?” From my experience, dating this 100% Filipino guy has been great – well, overall, well, so far – and while we definitely have huge differences, I don’t see why it would be surprising for me to date someone like David just because he’s Filipino.
Some girls have told me that Filipino boys can be negative in certain ways but that’s true for all nationalities. Every culture has amazing things, not so amazing things, irritating things, and even ugly things. Every culture.
So while culture and background are definitely influential in shaping a person, we should be looking at what values were shaped and adopted in that person more than what nationality the person was chosen by God to have.
It’s been said that Filipino men can be mama’s boys, never really being able to break free from family pressures, which I know is true, but if someone values what’s right over what family says, then there’s no reason to worry.
Because the beauty is that you may have someone who loves his family yet is mature on his own and can make independent choices. I’ve heard quite a bit of Filipinas say that “White guys are better.” as if all “white guys” are the same. There are many great “white guys” but there are also many terrible “white guys”.
My point is: if you have your values wrong, you’ll find the wrong guy, no matter what his nationality because you will attract people with similar values. And there’s a bigger question you should ask yourself: Are you the type of person that the type of person you are looking for is looking for.
Yes it’s a bit of a tongue twister, but read it a few times and you will get it! To break it down… People tend to have a long list of characteristics they would like in a partner.
This is a great thing to have, as we all know what we want in a person, giving or taking a few things as nobody is ‘perfect’. However often we fail to look at ourselves first. If the kind of guy we would like met us, would they like us? Would they respect us? And I think respecting each other is very important. Are we the type of person he would be excited to bring home to meet his parents? Do we posess the qualities he needs and wants in a lifetime partner?
These are more difficult questions to answer. I have to admit, even I find myself getting insecure about these things at times. But I’ve realized that it’s better be aware by reflecting on the tough questions because that’s the first step to improving. I love the Philippines, and one of the main reasons, as I have written before in one of my blog posts, is that I love the people here.
Filipino’s are very loving and warm people, and I always feel welcome here. I think Filipinos should be proud to be Filipinos, just as I’m proud to be friends with so many. But as with any nationality, if you go to the wrong places, you will most likely find the wrong guy. IF you want a quality guy, then don’t go searching in night clubs, and even if you search in churches, you can’t just assume that every guy or girl there shares your values.
Where should we look then? The Bible tells us where. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33 We should be looking to God. So what’s it like dating a 100% Filipino guy? And what’s it like dating a complex guy like David?
I’ll save that for another post. For now, embrace who you are, whoever you are, seek God for the answers to your questions, and be open to anything instead of relying on generalities.
You never know what beautiful surprise will present itself. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33 Yasmin Perucchetti - Jun 9th, 2014 I agree with you that we don’t “only” attract people of similar values. That’s why I never used the word.
We attract people of similar values and while we may be attracted to things superficially, the further they are from what is truly important to us, the less attractive they become to us. mayoume - Jun 22nd, 2014 we may attract people of different values, but not for long if we don’t inspire or influence them. maybe even just stay that way – attract — nothing more, like establish a relationship.
because whats the point if we just attract and not even make friends with the person we’re attracted to? unless you just want to be a “fan” with “different values” lol… anyway, good refelction by the author.
it’s like exactly what happened to me and my husband when we first met. =) Yasmin Perucchetti - Jun 22nd, 2014 I’m finding that David and I have to keep refining our values as we get to know each other.
It helps that we share core values already. And good point about the fans. It’s easy to have fans, but it’s better to find someone who truly appreciates who you are and what you want to do in life, and is happy to encourage you to get to that place. karen vogelsang - Jun 22nd, 2014 For some reason your blog popped up in my news feed. I am Dutch and dated and married a 100% Filipino guy. So if you ever need some one to talk to who has been there, done that, please get in touch!
PS I have friends who have also dated and married 100% Filipino guys. PPS I know David’s mother and I love her! PPPS Ask David’s father about my husband! - Jul 23rd, 2014 Just a while ago before I spotted this blogpost I was talking to my officemate and our conversation ended with this line, “you attract who you are.” We both agree that if you want an ideal man you should be an ideal woman also so both your lives will be a blessing to each of you.
Nice post Yasmin! God bless - Nov 13th, 2014 Hi Yasmin, I like your blog, I just stumbled upon it this morning. I read some of your “food” post and I think we are in the same building. I’m on the 33rd flr of Tycoon Bldg. Maybe we can meet one of these days. ^o^ Anyway, I think you are right that it is all in the values no matter what the color of your skin is and the most important thing is you understand each other, you respect each other and you love each other.
period. lol Mirth Blithe - Dec 17th, 2014 I came across with this post and site as I was doing some research about the Philippines after reading about one of her most recent prison issues (it’s gone viral) regarding the drug dealers who received some luxurious treatment whatsoever.
Anyway, the best thing about this post is this verse: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33″. - Sep 10th, 2015 I just started a relationship with a Filipino (100%) man and I am SO thankful I read this post (& found your blog)! I haven’t received any negative feedback, but I do have some people (my parents in particular) who have expressed concern with our cultural differences.
I know that the Lord asks us to put Him first, and of you do that, everything else will fall into place. Thanks for writing! You are an encouragement. Yasmin Perucchetti - Nov 20th, 2015 Hi Lauren. Thanks for you comment and feedback.
It can be difficult when so many people have many different opposing opinions, especially when they come from people we love. For me I just take all the advice in, pray about each one and at the end of the day God speaks to us about our lives, and sometimes what other people think is right or not right for us is not actually the case as only God knows our real story, sometimes their opinions are right.
Just makes sure we try our best in everything we do and seeks God blessings in everything we do ab - Nov 19th, 2015 I also am dating a 100% Filipino man. We share the sames values. From reading your posts you really enjoy living in the Philippines. I spent two months wandering around the country and was based in Manila inbetween where my boyfriend lives.
As we share the same values and I want a future together I found myself feeling very squashed there because family always comes first and I didn’t have any privacy during my visit.
I really enjoy his family but I also enjoy doing things by myself. I haven’t found that middle ground to separate visiting time with family and doing my own thing. Do you have any insight on how you have adjusted to living in the Philippines and getting comfortable in the culture? Thanks Yasmin Perucchetti - Nov 20th, 2015 That’s an interesting question.. The family culture here is very tight so I know what you are saying.
I think it’s great that families are close, but I also understand how it feels to need your own time. Honestly I think this is where it comes down to you relationship with you partner. For me I would make sure I always hear and respect the opinions of family members.
I love spending time with family so it’s easy to go along with family activities for me (and my boyfriend is not extreme in this respect to be honest). I would also make sure my partner and I have a solid understanding of our culture and wants and needs in the relationship, I also need alone time too, I think we all do (or should if we don’t). It’s important to come to a mutual understanding of what you want in the relationship and what you can and can’t tolerate in every aspect of life now rather than later.
This will save potential pain later on. I would suggest setting schedules of when you will have private time, when you will have family time etc, and stick to them (exceptions for special events) You can always adjust in the future..
Anonymous - Jan 16th, 2016 Hello! I’m a white girl of Scott/Irish and Italian descent and I am dating an 100% Filipino guy as well. We met by mere coincidence. We are both Christian and share the same values. His family is amazing and he treats me wonderfully. I am extremely happy….however…some of my family is against our relationship due to race difference. We are sticking to what we feel is right and what our hearts say and we are still going strong, but I can’t help but worry about what my family thinks.
Especially with the prospect of marriage in the future. I love my family dearly, but I love my boyfriend as well, if not more.
In the end I hope they will come to realize our feelings and that I am happy and just understand without hostility. Any advice? Yasmin Perucchetti - Feb 9th, 2016 Hi! thanks for your message, and sorry for the late reply.
Please remember I am not an expert and can only give you my personal opinion and/or suggestions. Regarding your situation it is obviously important to honor your parents and keep your relationship with them strong while respecting their opinions. I would hear them out and make sure you agree to really think about the advice they are giving you.
Regarding your relationship, if you are not in a hurry to get married, I would take it slow. Enjoy the dating stage of the relationship and getting to know each other. It may help your parents to have time to adjust before you make any serious commitments, and then at least they can see you are taking the time to get to know each other while testing out the concerns your parents have brought to light. Of course at the end of the day it’s your decision and If I knew I had really thought things through, given it the time it deserves, taken everyones opinions into consideration, tested out the relationship in the dating stage for long enough (at least two years), then I might be time to make a decision already.
Hopefully if you handle things right, your parents will also gain the confidence they need in this choice of yours over time, and if possible it’s best to handle this before the commitments have been made, as in all honesty I have seen family differences to cause problems in relationships when they were not properly dealt with before marriage. At the end of the day, this is you and your partners choice as you will be building a life together if you take that step.
