Customer Service/Dating Specialist (Former Employee) – Hallandale Beach, FL – October 5, 2018. A company that is not the worst to work at, but not necessarily somewhere to grow or advance in a career. Pay was reasonably low for the task that you had to perform. Was this review helpful?Yes 4 No Report. Share It's Just Lunch provides a great base pay and great training. The staff is all super helpful. Great team feeling even though you are making an individual effort. Impeccable training for sales/customer service. One of the best sales training I've ever been through.
The Review Editor’s Summary Self-described as the number one dating site for busy professionals, (IJL) claims to provide a happy alternative to blind dates, video dating services and personal ads.
Based on the premise that it’s easiest to get to know someone over a casual lunch or post-work drink, IJL is bent on helping members find the best matches and meeting places. The idea for lunch being that it serves as somewhat of a pre-date, a test for chemistry and an opportunity to see if there’s interest in going on a full-out outing together later. Their unique “hands on” methodology starts from the get-go by getting new members to chat with the service’s matchmaking professionals over the phone.
This way, the IJL team learns about each individual and their specific relationship goals based on past experiences. From there, they start the matchmaking process by hand-selecting suitable candidates. Once they select a match, they call you back to tell you about the possible arrangement, and even check back with you after the meeting to get to know what you liked and didn’t like. This is to moving forward. Although being in contact with real matchmakers is an interesting concept for some, it can be a deterrent for others who prefer to .
As for their mobile site, members don’t get to browse profiles and photos, since all the matchmaking happens through the site’s matchmaking professionals.
On one hand, it’s too bad that members need to rely purely on third party assistance to see matches, but it’s also a way of. After all, this is what makes this site different from other options.
Since payment models vary based on a member’s specific geographic location, it’s hard to estimate how much it will cost you to subscribe to the full service. Packages may also vary based on your contract and the number of guaranteed dates they offer you.
IJL does, however, offer a free basic account, which allows you to go through the interview process with a matchmaker and to get a sense of how the site works. IN-DEPTH Sign-Up Process Unlike that simply ask you to fill out a questionnaire at sign-up, IJL actually schedules a confidential interview with each new member over the phone. This is to get an idea of your personality, relationship goals and past relationship experience.
If you don’t have time to call in yourself, , and they’ll call you back when you’re free. Interview times may vary. Members/Interactions Since members don’t have any online profiles or photos, there’s no real way of interacting with them unless matches you and sends you on a date with them.
While it’s a guaranteed way to increase your privacy, it means you can’t really do any of your own searching either. Key Features - IJL’s personalized service and hands-on approach is an interesting alternative to that let members largely find their own way. - IJL has a page called Dating Tips, which is full of fully fleshed-out articles about dating dos and don’ts, how to develop a strong relationship, and how to be confident on a first date (among other topics).
- Great customer support team that is available to talk over the phone at any time. They are there to , coaching and general service information. Safety & Security IJL is very careful about what information they share with members when a match is made. In order to respect everyone’s privacy, the service only reveals the first name of your match and a brief description of why you’re suitable for each other.

best dating just lunch reviews - The #1 Matchmaking and Dating Service: It’s Just Lunch
I have been working at IJL for 5 months now and have had a great experience so far. A typical work day consists of several dials on the phone and great conversations with potential clients. I have learned new sales skills and general phone and people skills.
Management is beyond supportive and motivating. It's refreshing to work in an environment where your manager works just as hard as you do, if not harder! All managers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Management has made all the difference in my work experience so far.
The culture in my office is positive and drama free. We all get along and help each other when needed. Our CEO even sent over a massage therapist to give us massages on our break last month which was a fun surprise.
This was a surprise incentive on top of the incentives that we work for. Overall, I have had a great experience so far. I love what I do and have fun at work every day! These people are a joke they train you for one week expect you to know everything they taught you make you take a test like you are in school make you feel like you have a job setting you up then they fire you this place is a whole joke they need to shut down seriously they play you don’t waste your time people they train you waste your time then fire you I love my job at It's Just Lunch.
The management team here provides excellent training and is very supportive. They are always available to answer your questions and help you succeed. If you like inside sales and helping people find love, this would be a great place to work.
We can't promise love to our clients, but we can set them up for the best chances of success in their relationships. There is an opportunity for handsome compensation for those who are willing learn, be consistent, and work hard. This company is a joke and constantly has a high turnover rate because people quit once they realize what the company is all about.
They promote from within and there's favoritism. The workload is not worth the pay and the customers are lied to on a daily basis. Management plays favorites and is rude constantly making jokes about customers and they don't care about you as a person. I had to leave and wish I left sooner and didn't waste so long there. The company does not value their employees in regards to compensation in relation to workload. The company does not inspire morale. On the plus side you are not micromanaged and they have a generous bonus structure if you meet certain requirements.
However the regular pay is disappointing. There is no room for advancement at all employees are expected to reach outrageous expectations without the resources to do so.
You also have to work for your pto and it is laughably small. However another positive is that the company offers competitive benefits from health care to very inexpensive, but excellent dental plan. Ultimately this should be stopgap employment and nothing more.
They do not value any employees and you should not plan on staying here longer than a year for your benefit. I absolutely LOVE being a part of the IJL family.
I have only been with the company for 9mths but have been able to take my sales skills to extraordinary levels. The training and mentoring by management is outstanding. The positive encouragement given daily helps everyone succeed, those who really want to hit HUGE goals financially and personally this is the place to work.
Changing the lives of our clients everyday brings me such joy and gratitude and I love being rewarded for all of my effort monetarily. This is my forever career. I literally have my own business in a corporate environment, it is the most amazing opportunity ever!! June 5, 2017 While any business needs processes in place to successfully operate, we do not jeopardize the principles of our team members with those processes. We have an open-door policy that provides the opportunity for staff to voice feedback at all times.
If you were an employee in the Milwaukee office, we welcome you to contact the office directly to discuss any concerns so we are able to address them. A typical day at work would include finding love for our clients and getting to know our new clients. Listening is key in this position. You learn to take one thing at a time, and just keep on going. The atmosphere is great. Bonus structure makes it even better!
Hard work will get you there. We strive to make people happy. The most enjoyable part of the day is hearing another success story! Can't get better than that! The hardest part of the job is that there is a lot of work, and you are always busy.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you hear another success story. The management is great and always open to listening to new ideas. Open door policy in place.. CEO is fantastic, VP of Operations is always there for you. Fantastic workplace culture. Again... Lucky to work for such a great company! They start you out at minimum wage of 8.50 an hr for training and until you make a sale.... Then they will bump you to 16.87 + commission. Yet, they forget to tell you that their membership costs 2800-4500 per member.
You will have to call thru old leads while the manager gets all the new web leads and makes 2 sales a week? It's completely discouraging to any right minded person. If you want to call over 200 plus calls a day and get ahold of nobody because the leads are just that old, then this is the job for you.
Do not think or trust the recruiter who is fabulous at sugar coating this company. I ran right when I started to realize that something was very off. They literally have no normal sales people just new hires and managers. Just run away and go to the next job ad people.
May 11, 2017 We’re sorry that the position wasn’t a good fit for you; it isn’t the best fit for everyone. That being said, we are lucky enough to have many successful Dating Specialists who find the position both lucrative and rewarding.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and wish you all the best.
The Short Version: In the poke-nudge-wink world of modern dating, it can take a lot of time — and energy — to find your perfect match. For the busy single professional, finding that time can be a real problem. The solution? Hire an expert. The fully-trained staff of matchmakers at are dating professionals who take the legwork out of finding love.
Not only do they take care of everything, but their hand-picked matches and face-to-face dates ensure each couple has the best chance at chemistry. My friend Kara is always on the run. On an average day, she spends anywhere from eight to 10 hours at work, almost two hours commuting, and at least one more hour picking up groceries and dry cleaning. After fitting in a few hours of sleep and the occasional take-out meal, she barely has enough time to Netflix — let alone hunt for Mr.
Right. For the thousands of swamped singles struggling to fit dating between meetings and mergers, there’s . A personalized matchmaking service that hand-selects each match, It’s Just Lunch has found success in making the dating process more efficient for their busy clients. It’s Just Lunch believes meeting someone face-to-face is the only way to tell if there is chemistry.
“Our clients are not just clicking through profiles,” explains Melissa Brown, the CEO of It’s Just Lunch. “We send them on real dates, in a real setting.” Their process is centered around the core idea that only a face-to-face meeting can reveal the chemistry between two people — and that chemistry is critical. Their clients seem to agree. “At the end of my workday — I didn’t want to come home and look at profiles online,” says Desiree Schlitt, one of It’s Just Lunch’s many success stories.
“I felt like it was a waste of my time.” The first step down the It’s Just Lunch path to a match — the initial interview — is one of the most important (receiving feedback after each date is also incredibly important). A matchmaker spends around 60 minutes with the client, getting to know the real them — their likes, dislikes, goals, and dreams.
With years of training and experience, It’s Just Lunch’s matchmaking team is well-versed in ferreting out every detail, identifying exactly what their clients want and need in a partner. It’s Just Lunch’s personalized process is six steps.
Once they have a good idea of who you are, they set about finding great matches. Clients have veto power over potential matches and can reject any who don’t pique their interest off the bat. Always privacy conscious, It’s Just Lunch only shares first names, basic career information, and a few hobbies for each potential date. When both matches agree to meet, the matchmaker moves on to the next step — setting up a face-to-face date.
As the name implies, many It’s Just Lunch meetups are lunch dates, though, the after-work drink has become increasingly popular. For clients whose weekdays are just too busy, they can also arrange a cozy weekend brunch. Naturally, the hope is always that sparks fly, leading to a second date and more. Didn’t quite hit it off? Then it’s time for post-date feedback, where your matchmaker can get the scoop on what worked — and what didn’t — on your date.
From there, they’ll fine-tune your future matches, with the goal of getting you closer to that special someone. The heart of It’s Just Lunch is their team of matchmakers, who Melissa describes as “glass half-full kind of people” who love to be socially involved in their own lives. Melissa started her own career with It’s Just Lunch as a matchmaker and knows the type very well. “They enjoy getting to know people; they enjoy that aspect of life.” It’s Just Lunch CEO Melissa Brown knows what it takes to be a great matchmaker — she started as one!
It’s Just Lunch’s matchmakers come from a variety of industries and have a wide range of backgrounds and skills — and, yes, they have male matchmakers, too. Regardless of their differences, though, these seasoned matchmaking professionals have a passion for helping people find love — and the highly-developed intuitions to succeed. “Our matchmakers have to have that natural ability, that instinct,” Melissa says.
“That’s something you can’t teach.” Of course, they don’t just rely on instinct; It’s Just Lunch has an in-depth, proprietary training program.
“We teach them the It’s Just Lunch matching way,” explains Melissa. The It’s Just Lunch team even takes it a step further, making sure each matchmaker has the skills to help their clients excel at dating.
“Many of our matchmakers are certified life coaches.” The final qualification for an It’s Just Lunch matchmaker? Optimism in the face of dating adversity. “We all have a very dynamic, vibrant outlook on dating,” confides Melissa, adding, “We see that for our clients, too.” The experts at It’s Just Lunch are making matches around the globe.
Kara continues to live her non-stop life — complete with an empty dance card and a full Netflix queue. While she might have trouble squeezing a date into her weekly planner, it’s easy to see how It’s Just Lunch can be a helping hand to busy professionals like her. “Being a member of It’s Just Lunch is like having trusted friends set you up — but even better because they’re professionals,” says Beau and Jesalyn Garret, an It’s Just Lunch success story.
