Somerset West is the most beautiful part of the Western Cape and is centrally located to all the wine estates and places of interest. There’s so much to see and do, restaurants to dine at, wine and champagne tastings, parks with interesting playgrounds for children, the markets are very popular and make for a wonderful day out, wherever you go the scenery is spectacularl, I could go on and on.
If you want to experience fine dining at its best you HAVE to visit Cavalli wine estate and stud farm, there’s no where else quite like it! Not only is the food prepared by the best chefs in the country it is also a stunning venue with incredible scenery! My favourite market is Lourensford Market which has so much to offer it doesn’t get better than this!
Somerset West was a good stop for further exploration along the coastline with gorgeous scenic drives. We visited the penguin colony in Betty's Bay and saw whales off the coast up to Hermanus. Also enjoyed driving around the wine region visiting a number of wine farms with picnics and restaurants. A beautiful area. The country living feel within a major metropolis. For a nature lover like myself the close proximity to mountains & the fact that Cape Town is where the Indian & the Atlantic Ocean meet is always a winner for me.
The socio-cultural diversity of the place entails that the place is on the right path to becoming an inclusive, liveable city. A very friendly place with the ocean on the one side and mountains on the other!,They will definitely see us again! Some of our favorite places to go is Somerset Value Mall and Somerset Mall, great shops!,we went to Azami’s for unbeatable sushi and to Hassar Grill.Having a walk on the beach is amazing!
