There are plenty of lunch options around town, but when you really want to woo your client, or enjoy a lunch outing, it's important that the lunch is good, the service is slick, and the outlet is swish.
And it can't hurt that the deal is good value too. So we've hit the cafes, restos and bistros around town to give you the low-down on business lunches. 1. Molecule It's time people start taking D3 seriously.
Dubai Design District has been emerging for the past few years, and now with a pletora of companies moving their offices there such as Jumeriah, Adidas and Chalhoub group in addition to many top quality new restaurants opening, and with more to come, it's going to be a premium business district to rival DIFC.
For business lunches, Molecule, is a great choice. The interior design is itself a work of art, and acts as the perfect back drop to showcase local artistic talent. The food follows suit, we had the carpaccio, and a chocolate desert that is only for those who are prepared to have a sugar rush for the afternoon. • What's the deal: The set lunch menu has two courses for AED 85 and three courses for AED 99. • What to order: Sea bream carpaccio, roast chicken. • Selling point: It's licensed with great cocktail selection, and it doubles as an art gallery.
• Info: 12-3pm, Sun-Thu See 2. Matto Stylish Business Bay hotel, The Oberoi is home to many quirky dining concepts, and the latest on the ground floor is Italian restaurant, Matto. It's a notch down from fine dining and has a cool bar in the middle of the restaurant, so equally welcoming to go for a drink. Matto will win you over if you like Italian food. All the staff there on the day we visited were Italian, the interior is even designed based on the staff, this the below picture of a man kissing a fish taking of the head chef.
• What's the deal: The create-your-own lunch works out at AED 80 for two courses, with a selection of three starters and four mains, wine is AED 30 per glass and AED 125 per bottle • What to order: The 'bruschettone' (Matto's take on bruschetta) was excellent, so was the ravioli ricotta • Selling point: If you've got international guests, this is the place to take them to impress them • Info: 12-3.30pm, Sun-Thu See What's an Italian without a vespa 3.
Rib Room Emirates Towers used to be one of the most vibrant business centers in Dubai. However, now a lot of the companies that were based there have moved out and been replaced by embassies. It is still a good place to go for business meetings. Rib Room used to be a cigar lounge and is nice a fine large restaurant. • What's the deal: Price: AED80-175 for a single-course meal, they price this in an interesting way.
Depending on how long you have for lunch, so if you are in a rush, you can be done in 20 minutes and it's a two course meal, but if you have over an hour, well, you can go all out! • 20 minutes for AED 80 / AED120 from the grill two-course meal • 40 minutes includes a starter, main and dessert for AED 130 / AED 155 from the grill three-course meal • 60 minutes includes a starter, main and dessert for AED 150 / AED 175 from the grill • What to order: A steak is a must here, which ever is your fancy.
• S elling point: Great for steaks and meat-lovers in general. Plus the deal means you can tailor your lunch according to your time-constraints. • Info: 12-3pm, Sun-Thu Call 04 432 3232 4. Fume Pier 7 is known for its great food and plenty of choices, especially for ladies nights or on the weekend. It's not necessarily the first place that would come to mind for a business lunch.
But it really convenient, for those with offices in JLT, Tecom or Dubai Media City, and accessible with Dubai Marina Mall parking. Fume has a special business lunch menu, and what's more, the bar is serving as well.
• What's the deal: Prices start from AED39 for a starter and a main. • What to order: Everything on the menu is tasty. Start with the couscous salad or the prawn tempura, then they do a great rib eye on a wooden plate that you should definitely try, and finish with a chocolate mousse. • S elling point: This is the place to come to for the more casual business lunch. For that professional acquaintance who you know and you said 'let's do lunch' to, a few too many times.
Well, act on it, and go to Fume. • Info: 2-4pm Sun-Thu See 5. Bussola, Westin Mina Seyahi Tucked in the grounds of the Westin Mina Seyahi, Bussola offers sprawling views of the ocean, with floor-to-ceiling windows giving the space a light and airy feel.
The venue is full of corporate types availing the deal, some relaxing while others discuss business over a plate of pizza. The two-course deal is served up quickly, and efficiently.
We managed to enjoy both courses, plus a drink in record time - back in the office within the hour. • What's the deal: A starter and a main course for AED120 per person, • What to order: The menu varies seasonally, and has specials of the day. Everything is fresh and delicious but the pizzas are one of Bussola's signature dishes.
• S elling point: This lunch is perfect for those looking for a quick turnaround. • Info: 12-2.45pm, Sun-Thu See 6. Pier Chic, Madinat The setting and the name is cause enough to arouse excitement in all residents in Dubai. I was due to a business lunch catch up with a business partner, and when I suggested Pierchic, she said, 'Richard, are you going to propose?'. It has that reputation, but that takes away from it a bit. It's so much more than a romantic restaurant.
This restaurant is located in an idyllic setting hoisted above the sea on a setting, wooden jetty. To reach it, you can enter via the beautiful grounds of Al Qasr, past those golden horses, then be whisked through the grounds of the hotel on a buggy, with views of Burj Al Arab, and then out to see on the wooden walk way.
It will be had to beat the service here. From the personalised welcome to the detailed explanation of each course, you are also never unnecessary interrupted, and the chef will even visit your table to make sure all is fine.
• What's the deal: The business lunch menu is an exceptional value. There is a three-course meal from AED 199. • What to order: You'll find it hard to source better food in Dubai. The oysters tasted like sea water, the pan fried Atlantic hake was cooked perfectly and so fresh. • Selling point: Come here if you would like your guest to feel like you've just taken them on holiday. This is where you sell the dream. • Info: 12pm-3pm Mon-Thu Call 04 432 3232.
7. Le Cirque Le Cirque is a new French restaurant located in The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre.
It's fablours. It was the old smoking lounge, and now it's an elegant French restaurant. A little bit like La Serre in Downtown Dubai. • What's the deal: The lunch menu is called ‘Déjeuner avec Le Chef’, a bespoke menu based on your culinary preferences and treat you and your guests to the ultimate New York experience starting AED125 per guest inclusive of coffee with 10% tax and drinks on top • What to order: There is an element of surprise, you give the chef a hint of what you like: meat, fish, vegetarian, and he does the rest.
If you like beef, let the waiter know, the filet de boeuf is a must: beef fillet, mash, short rib bourguignon, horseradish • Selling point: This place is a winner in every way. I took a couple of lawyers here for lunch, who you would think would know a thing or two about business lunches, and they said this was the best lunch they've had in Dubai.
• Info: 12-3pm, Sun-Thu See 8. Zuma Zuma has won numerous awards over the years for best lunch in town. It's the kind of place business owners take their top performing employees as a reward, or where you go to woo potential clients. It's a great way to enjoy the coveted Japanese menu, without the hefty price-tag. • What's the deal: Zuma Ebisu Lunch Menu - AED130 includes miso shiru (miso soup with tofu, wakame, and green onion) - a choice of two dishes to start a choice of one main dish Alternatively, the Ebisu Express Menu is available at just AED72 per person, with miso shiru served alongside one main course.
Zuma is located at Gate Village 06, DIFC. • What to order: Tuna Tataki. • Selling point: Zuma is one of the most reasonably priced in terms of the offer, but it would be a shame to leave after two courses.
This is a treat, make the most out of it and cancel your plans for the afternoon. It's an ever present in the DIFC nightlife scene and is rarely not packed.

Bu Qtair, 4D Street, Al Sufouh, Dubai, (+971) (0)55 705 2130 One of Sassy Mama Dani’s fave date night spots, you’re always guaranteed a fun night out at Catch – it’s vibrant, its lively and the food is great – plus the buzz will pick you up if you’re feeling tired (and which mama isn’t!?).
As the name suggests, this place is mainly about (delicious) seafood but you don’t have to be a fish lover to book as the menu also offers some seriously scrummy options for carnivores and veggies alike. And then there’s the sharing dessert plate… omg… 5 mini versions of sweet that you can fight over… or not, it is date night after all.
Catch, Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, PO 97555 Dubai, (+971) (0)4 357 1755, Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food, beautiful food (read what Sassy contributor Louise had to say ). What the French don’t know about love and food just isn’t worth knowing so a date night at La Petite Maison is a guaranteed winner. The fabulous sharing concept (perfect for anyone who suffers from food envy) includes simple but elegant dishes such as scrambled duck eggs, vension tartare and onion tart as well as superb steak and Mediterranean seafood options – plus deliciously decadent deserts.
And we love the colourful paintings on the white walls, the crisp linen and the signature tomato, lemon and olive oil on each table.

Ask someone to watch the kids while you and the hubster head to this uber chic French spot at the equally cool Vida Hotel Downtown Dubai for a feast of pastries and eggs with a glass or two of bubbly.

La Serre, Vida Downtown Hotel, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Downtown Dubai, UAE, (+971) (0)4 428 6969, You wouldn’t expect to find an incredible Italian restaurant inside a pyramid but this little gem, tucked away at The Pyramids at Wafi, is exactly that. We love the chandeliers, the floaty white curtains, the candlelight – but most of all we love the food.
Overseen by an Italian ‘nonna’, Chef Livia, who is all about authenticity – we’re talking homemade pasta and ingredients sent from Italy, the problem is in the choosing as it’s all so good.
And there’s a pork license if real Italian prosciutto tickles your fancy – and the most divine outdoor terrace for when the weather cools. A little slice of Italy in Dubai – bellisimo!
Medzo, Pyramids @ Wafi, Oud Metha District, Sheikh Rashid Road, Dubai, (+971) (0)4 324 4100, If you’re a fan of Japanese and you want a special night out then Okku is the answer. And what to eat when you’re sat out at sea? Well seafood of course – heavenly oysters, scallops and crab just for starters plus lobster, sashimi (and a few meat or veggie options if you’re not a fishy person). But make sure to save room for one of the best apple pies in Dubai, completely yummy and served with honeycomb ice cream that we dream of. Pierchic, Madinat Jumeirah, Al Qasr, Dubai, (+971) (0)4 366 5866, A boutique steakhouse that soars (both literally and metaphorically) above any other in the city, this is THE place to come if you need a hearty red and a steak cooked to perfection.
Oh and some seriously sassy views. Located on the 68 th floor of the world’s tallest hotel you’re in a prime position to see Dubai stretch out beneath you – and starting your date night with a drink at The Vault split over the 71st and 72nd floors also gives you a breathtaking view of the Burj Khalifa.

Once there we guarantee your date night will be awesome – particularly if you’re into steak, steak and more steak and you like it served on a terrace, overlooking lush green polo fields with the Dubai skyline sparkling in the distance or in by candlelight in the sultry dining room.
Celebrating an anniversary or special occasion? Let them know beforehand and you might be in for a surprise… Rare, Per Aquum Desert Palm, PO 119171 Dubai, (+971) (0)4 323 8888, Whether you’re a British mama or not, this British pub-inspired resto, headed up by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer, is absolutely perfect for a not-too-dressed-up date night (you know, the kind where you can keep your jeans on and jazz up your makeup a bit). In the words of our Sassy contributor Frankie (whose will defo get you calling for a reservation), ‘forget the fancy-shmancy over-the-top pretentiousness of a lot of Dubai restaurants – this feels like you’re stepping in to someone’s quirky home’.
We’re all over getting cosy and romantic in big armchairs, patchwork booths and under mismatched lampshades – and we are definitely all over a menu of pub classics served with a twist and with a stunning view over Dubai Marina to boot. The Scene, Level 4 at Pier 7, Dubai (+971) (0)4 422 328,
