Soulblade - When it is active, either Bolvar Fordragon, Arthas Menethil, or Ner'zhul will appear and grant an effect. The effect varies based on who appears, but this includes restoring runic power, and restoring depleted runes. This effect was active in Alpha but has not been seen for a while, so it is possible that it was removed. This was indeed removed. Originally all artifacts had a passive effect on the weapon Equip: effect and a button that you unlock with the first point you spend in the weapon.

The souls of the lich king was Frost's passive effect, procing Ner'zhul would give 50 runic power, Arthas would give a rune and Bolvar would just do some damage. In the middle of Alpha they went over every spec and removed these passive Equip: effects for everybody and redesigned and merged a lot of them with the active artifact button, designs much closer to what will go live next week.

Frost's "Hidden Artifact effect" is much less hidden than most, if you stand still ice forms under you and a cracking noise is heard when you move. Similar to the Restoration shaman effect mentioned above. Also similar to Fire Mage artifact, a ghost of Arthas can be found in most (maybe all?) of the broken isles zones who gives Artifact Power when you talk to him. Comment by Soeroah This is probably an obvious answer but; the "complete 100 dungeons" triggers, does that require only Legion dungeons, or can it be older dungeons?

Also, any clues on which ones are account-wide? I'm sure the Glory of the Legion Hero one is but I'm not sure about the other achievement-based appearances.

Comment by TurtleBlue Ok guys thanks for the guide, this is nice. One question. So far each appearance unlocked is for each and every specs. What about the hidden one?

Basically if I get the hidden appearance for arcane artifact, does that also unlock the one for fire artifact, or do I have to get it anyway? Comment by Leviatharan It seems that "Apocalyptic Deathblade" is in fact a spell that Ariden can cast during your fight against him, and not a hidden Execute effect like I once thought.

(Pity that.) According to a few posters on reddit, Apocalypse leaves some corpses diseased and fly-ridden, similar to the effect of Felo'melorn. Additionally, I've seen commentary from citizens and guards in Dalaran, the Temple of Elune in Val'sharah, and the Azurewing Repose in Azsuna about the weapon's "aura of disease and death".

Similarly, the Blades of the Fallen Prince emit an ice patch when you stand still. Neither appears to have a combat enhancement.

Comment by Jornak idk if anyone mentioned it before but I'm fairly certain that a hidden effect of the Frost DK artifact is, that it enables you to see the "Memory of Arthas" as a special rare spawn throughout the broken isles.

If you click him, he says some lines and then grants some artifact power to the blades. For example, I found him right in the room where you meet Mayla Highmountain, behind a statue. When I clicked him, he told me that I'm still a pawn of the Lich King and only exist by his whim. Comment by kafedzis AGAIN...hunters are geting so nice things that they even have to pay for them to get them...and not only 3g or 10g ....8k this weapon that becomes bow is so beautifull it will look even more bad than thas dorah on my troll hunter.

thanks developers...next time get me to draw one of thoes "hunter weapons" i just may do better job than just remodeling an egiststing skin :D... Comment by buffagor I wondered why that eagle appeared to help when I was low on health.

I was passing through a town in Highmountain when a Highmountain Tauren said something to me about me holding Talonstrike. I have not officially started questing in the zone though, so there may be more interaction there. Comment by Nirryti Assassination's weapon sometimes pops a dialogue with repair vendor in Valdisdall in Stormheim - u borrow him weapon and he gives you 50 AP. Enhancement's weapon can spawn elemental rares in zones: my friend spawned earth elemental 3 times - simply kill, air elemental will have a special event for u where u need to dodge whirlwinds, if u fail he gets mad and start to attack u, but if u succeed he will give u AP, I think he also spawned a fire elemental but im not sure.

All elementals give AP Comment by kittyanya For Woolmancer, Chattbot on Mmo-Champion posted a list of neutral wooly animals across Broken Isles you sheep to get a Volatile Sheep to chat box with you and say ...

Quoted: When you sheep a certain type of mob for the first time a volatile sheep appears and talk to you by saying "...", there is one in each zone, it's most likely the first step to unlocking the hidden artifact The types are as follow: -Cliffwing Hippogryph in Azsuna -Shieldscar Doe in Suramar -Wild Dreamrunner in Val'sharah -Highlands Runehorn Calf in Stormheim -Highpeak Goat in Highmountains After doing all of these nothing happens, there must be something more to it Source: I checked and it does happen, but we're still working on what the next step is.

Comment by jjoemaster I have noticed 2 additional things with the Restoration Druid staff G'Hanir. If you run by Applebough in Dalaran he throws you a Laden Apple.

Also I have noticed if I go AFK a patch of flowers appear under my feet and do not disappear until I move, move being rotating in place or actually taking a step. Comment by Reinmei Protection Paladin Artifact has some hidden ability, When you are in combat with an enemy and you are not dealing any damage shield starts to throw some light bolts at target dealing your attack damage ,don't know if it also generates threat; it seems staying away from the monster and waiting is enough to see.

Comment by Swordlord Hey, I may have discovered the Havoc demon hunter "Twinblades of the Deceiver" hidden trait. It seems when you pick up a soul fragment it takes about 5 seconds off the cooldown of eyebeam.

I did not see this documented on the tooltips of eyebeam or shattered souls. It is very apparent in large groups of enemies, I have had the cooldown of eyebeam completely reset before. Is it possible this is the hidden trait? Comment by Railander I think the Destruction Artifact hidden effect is summoning mini Infermals with melee attacks, as can be seen from this .

I can't seem to reproduce the effect as of now so it probably requires you to have unlocked the hidden appearance, or maybe obtained the Infernal golden trait. Comment by Vishin Corrupted Ashbringer has been discovered by combining both Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin' (fished or looted from players in AV) and A Thoroughly Read Copy of "Nat Pagle's Guide (found in DM) to make "A Complete Copy of "Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin'." You also must have at least 10 AF knowledge to trigger the event in your order hall.

Ref: Comment by ZevSensei Hi, i just want a clarification about the hidden artifact weapon appearance of the windwalker monk! The "final" chest is the one after every completion of the withered army world quest that depends on the score (i think) or when you finaly reach the end of the scenario you get this appearance?

Thanks! Comment by Nestor91 Noticed on the WoW website - , if you hover over the "use" text it says Burning Blood of the Worldbreaker. If you search wowhead for burning blood, its related to Deathwing in Dragon Soul when his tentacles burst and spawn the adds etc. Maybe we need to kill a certain amount of those?

Comment by Samakoto Wondering if it is both specs or just vengeance. But I only noticed it while tanking on my demon hunter.

When I'm fighting demons at least that's when I notice it I will randomly get a buff called demon souls or something like that. It increases all my dmg by 20% for I don't remember how long. Could this be the vengeance artifact hidden ability?

Or does this proc for havoc too? Comment by evlen1291 It seems that I had found a way to unlock hidden apearances without finding the secret thingy thap opens them up.

What do you need to do: 1) Unlock secret appearence for any of your artifact. 2) Unlock their new color (do 200 local quests for an example) 3) Use your forge in a spec with unlocked artifact 4) Press SHIFT+RMB on any other artifact in your bag 5) You can choose recolor of the hidden look. P.S. You NEED to do it in a spec that has unlocked hidden apearence. P.P.S. This really seems like a bug, but when I hover over recolor it says that "To unlock you need to do 200 locals using artifact with a hidden appearence" This opens up new looks for all of your artifacts.

Here is a proof of it - I`m wielding third recolor of hidden Unholy`s artifact though it`s locked from me Here you can see that initial recolor is still locked - Comment by Nikeru I believe I've found hidden effect of Enhancement Shaman's artifact, It's similar to Balance Druid's effect, in Broken Isles region (so far I've found only in Stormheim) are oppressed elementals, they are visible on minimap with a rare mob star, as Enh shaman you can walk up to them and talk, if you choose so, you can help them, that will involve fighting with mobs which then rewards some AP.

Comment by HarkenRebirth There is one thing that bother me a bit. If you are lets say mainly Elemental and want to get the Resto artifact item, is it enough to put yourself in Resto Loot Specialisation or do you actualy need to activatre that spec and have the artifact one for it to drop. Cus i would like to get the diferent look for later. Comment by Dialout Seriously bugging me what Assassination's hidden effect is.

The random NPC's acknowledging my weapons and granting me a small AP boost has happened to me with all 3 specs so I'm reluctant to believe that is what it is.

However, if that's the case... it's pretty lame... not very "flavorful" considering some of the other passive effects are downright awesome, like the Marks bow granting a constant speed buff (sooooo nice). I keep checking my combat logs and stuff to see if anything unusual pops up but no luck. I want to knowwwww 😢 Comment by Scratt42 Not sure if it's been said yet, but it's not in the article. With doomhammer, I've found that there are earth shrines around the broken isles that have a torrmented earth spirit.

You click on the spirit and either the mobs that are tormenting the spirit spawn, or a corrupted version of the spirit spawns. Either way, you kill them, the earth spirit is released, it thanks you and gives you 50 AP Comment by Qulinez In order to loot the item for Havoc DH specc, you'll need to complete Artifact Research 5, then you will get the item drop from killing mobs while doing WQ in Suramar :) Been farming it for ages not a single drop, after getting AK5 it dropped instantly.

Also heard that you can just engage Downfall after completing AK5 and still get the hidden artifact drop.. I have not tried it, so can't confirm. This dropped for me off Skovald tonight.

My Fury artifact is at 21 points spent and I have Valarjar Exalted rep. The Exalted rep may be the key to getting these to drop, as many people were not able to loot the Skull of Nithogg and my rep seemed to be the only differentiating factor. And maybe the reputation its the key to get that. Comment by angelist /run AddTrackedAchievement(11152) /run AddTrackedAchievement(11153) /run AddTrackedAchievement(11154) Those add the trackers for each of the colour variations, the same way you track achievements, so that you can see how far along you are.

The dungeon one is a little hard to read though. Comment by Alyxandr1a Just speculation here, nothing really to back it up.

But could the Destro Warlock Hidden passive be the variety of Portals Summoned by the Artifact ability? Or is that just an intended feature of the ability?

It seems to be randomly choosing between portals that Use Chaos Bolt, Chaos Barrage and Shadow Bolt. If that's not the case, the staff is linked to Ner'zhul and the destruction of the Non-WoD timeline Draenor, has anyone tried carrying it to him in Draenor, or poking around Outlands with it? Comment by soulsuck for the havoc demon hunter skin, go talk to Candrael on the hill above Fel Soul and she will have a dialogue box once you're Artifact Knowledge is at level 5.

She will punt you into Downfall the mob and you kill him. Do Not try and glide into him because you will just be wasting your time since he won't be lootable that way! Comment by Bearc1458 Hey guys, I just got the , You need to have Artifact Knowledge Rank 5 in order for the Appearance to drop off .

And you don't have to get the to get to him, you can go up to the top of the Mountains of Highmountain near the Neltharion's Lair dungeon (Take the Flight point to Thunder Totem and go up to Snowblind mesa and take a right, going up the mountain near said dungeon and going up to the top, the mobs will ignore you if you stay near the edge of the peak, just make sure to open the map and use the Suramar map since you will appear on it) and glide down, it'll save you some time.

I hope this helps out fellow Demon Hunters! Comment by seamore Updated macros to track hidden skin variants, since the dungeons are tracked separately I have grouped them into 3 macros, just have to add up the 3 results for your total. U can just use a goblin glider to fly from dalaran to the mob and kill it that way without the item drop before. 2. I killed the Mob with Artifact Knowledge Lv 4 and the Hidden Artifact didnt drop so i opened a ticket. The GM replied that u need to have Artifact Knowledge Level 5 to drop the hidden skin Comment by MadruckOIFGamer Guys, I created another set of videos showing the location of every rare mob in Legion/Broken Isles that drop artifact power items through this playlist with Coordinates and instructions on how to implement them through the handynotes addon: I hope these videos help you guys!

Comment by Carianta Regarding Havoc Demon Hunter's Hidden Artifact skin's hidden effect, it appears to cause red particle effects to fly in from offscreen towards the mob you're actively targeting periodically. Unsure if it's cosmetic only or if it actually has a damage/combat effect, or if it only procs off certain abilities i.e. Chaos Strike or Demon's Bite. Comment by ZIGMER For those that have a hidden appearance for one of the weapons, Here's how to track your hidden artifact appearance color variants through achievement progress: /run AddTrackedAchievement(11152) - Complete 30 dungeons using a hidden artifact appearance.

(This achievement does not display correctly) /run AddTrackedAchievement(11153) - Complete 200 world quests using a hidden artifact appearance. /run AddTrackedAchievement(11154) - Kill 1,000 players using a hidden artifact appearance.

Check all your hidden artifact appearance progress using this script /run local q,x,_,a,b = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo,0 for i=1,11 do _,_,_,a,b = q(11152,i) x=a end local _,_,_,c,d = q(11153,1) local _,_,_,e,f = q(11154,1) print("Dungeons: "..x.."/"..b) print("WQs: "..c.."/"..d) print("Kills: "..e.."/"..f) Note: Completing any of these achievements will complete them for all your other specializations on that character, regardless of having unlocked the consumable items for your other specs.

---------------------------------------- The correct achievement ID's were shared by hamza1306 on the WoW subreddit - The script was shared by MMOSimca on the same topic on WoW's subreddit - Comment by ninnster For discipline priests: As has been suggested under the "Writings of the End" item, you have to be at artifact knowledge 4, and then you seemingly have to speak to Archivist Inkforge to obtain the first book to start you off.

He has a bit of dialogue, follow it and you get the book. Retribution Hidden Effect: Ashbringer - The Ashbringer has a chance to instantly destroy any lesser demon or undead creatures. Demonology Hidden Effect: The skull will periodically whisper to you - depending on zone, spell cast, or target killed, this whisper changes.

Why do I feel like some weapons "hidden effects" are really lame compared to others...? (examples above: ret-awesome.. demo- lame.... i mean, its nice it talks and all but... thats it?) Comment by The1Squall So, I think I figured out what the Destruction Warlock's Artifact ability is.

I was going through Suramar and I found that the mobs that would expose you from your disguise had a red "eye" above the blue one, and it could be seen through terrain as shown in these two screen caps.

I could be mistaken but thats just my two sense worth Comment by Kitslinn Possible that the holy priest hidden effect is related to this, hadn't seen it mentioned yet: Lady Challiane at Challiance's Terrace will comment on your weapon saying "Ohhh... do you feel that? A warmth in the air? A great light shines from within this strange priest's staff..." I haven't seen any other NPCs that comment on the weapon yet. Comment by Snowlake Can you tell me why unholy and frost DK weapons look great and awesome as fuck, but blood weapon looks like pile of metal pieces fastened together with snot of Anub'arak?

It's a lot of tanks in WoW that you have decided to reduce their amount in this way?(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM## Comment by gunsotsu A lot of these seem like nonsense.

Looting totally unrelated items to start quests which send you apparently to class restricted zones then running around drunk polymorphic random things to spawn explosive critters... I'm sry but what drugs are you on. I challenge you to prove a paladin can get into archerus. Actually prove your findings. Peove a lot of the steps actually mattered. Cuz I'm sry, 99% of the hidden appearances are just edrops from mobs or bosses in legion..

The woolomancer corrupted ash and a few others just seem like a bunch of trollish nonsense with no proof any of the steps taken were remotely related to final result.. I call bull. Comment by Poppleop Per a comment I stumble upon in from Windcrawler (whom seems to have stumbled across it form somewhere else).

Seems Putricide's sectret lab is indeed the correct method, and the journal for accessing it comes from Court of Stars (2nd boss), though this will need to be tested. I think it's safe to assume it is gated behind AK6 like some other appearances have been, and maybe even reputation with nightfallen.

But considering how fresh this info seems, barring that you get it from Putricide's secret lab the rest is relatively speculative. Edit1: Windcrawler passed on his source, (the massive mmo champion thread) - and seems it is legit. AK6 seems likely, potentially revered nightfallen, maybe having to make an abomination Edit2: Army of the Dead seems to be the key, not CoS.

should look for something in chat along the lines of Comment by likwidd There's plenty of macros out there, this updates Kamikaze28's to include the artifact icon and spaced output with 3 chars to spare: #show 16 /run local a,x,g,b,y=0,11152,GetAchievementCriteriaInfo;for i=1,11,1 do _,_,_,y,b=g(x,i);a=a+y;end;print("Dungeons: "..a.."/"..b);_,_,_,a,b=g(x+1,1);print("WQs : "..a.."/"..b);_,_,_,a,b=g(x+2,1);print("Kills : "..a.."/"..b); Comment by Aminiriirai Can anyone actually provide a source on the Brewmaster hidden passive?

I've gotten in game drunk plenty of times, and never had anything "extra" to say. I would like to suggest adding the new Brewmaster-artifact-only weapon drawn pose though, where you hold the staff on your shoulder even during combat.

That could be all Brewmaster gets for their hidden passive for all I know, as it's all I've been able to find. Comment by Morrok /sigh....again with this bull@#$% you give one class something easy meanwhile people are working every day to go out and get this *!@# in zones they cant stand.

• Artifact Knowledge =4 • Some books have re-spawn timer. • The "quest chain" starts by talking to the dwarf on the bench in the class order hall. • If you "START" this hidden skin chain make sure you "FINISH IT" within the week! There is a hidden weekly reset on some of the books, even if you have them in bag, you actually don't! • If you went through the hidden weekly reset, then go back to the dwarf on the bench in the class order hall to re-start it.

• Under no circumstance delete or throw away some of the books because then the quest chain might become broken. If you complete the 100 Dungeons 200 World Quests or 1000 Player kills it counts for all specs so you do not need to do it again for each artifact appearance. You can also mix specs so if you don't have an appearance for your DPS spec you can run around as heals and get 120 world quests out of the way and then finish the last 80 as DPS if you'd like. Also for some reason you can farm 1000 player kills on Mythic Nythendra.

I got my mages appearance just during progression on that fight. Not sure if this has been fix and I don't think that it was intended. Comment by Stomphoof So I have an Enhancement Shaman.

I have noticed that while playing him a tiny tornado will sometimes appear and bounce my non combat pet away. It also has a pair of tiny cows in it and a house.

It only seems to occur when I am on my Shaman and he is specced Enhancement. Could that be its hidden effect? I do have Stormcaller Myra as my combat follower, as a note. Comment by rxlsoul Still the Unholy DK Artifact FACTS of how to get it need to be fixed properly as has nothing to do with it what so ever All you need is Artifact Knowledge 6 and cast and gain 8 stacks of on a target and cast which in turn gives 8 ghouls to fight for you with the chance of the book to drop Comment by XBarbarian just completed Demon Hunter by jumping from Ironhorn Enclave, and gliding to him.

no drop required. couldn't get to him flying from dalaran, tried several times. made me think they patched to require the drop, but no. flying from High Mountain, g2g. had to unassign Bodyguard (was causing issues, glitching around me) Comment by Balefirez Possible BM hidden appearance ability: I took critical damage and was encased in a timelocked globe of invulnerability that healed me to about half my health.

Didn't catch what the name was, but haven't had this happen before. I'm going to try and see if I can repeat the same results and will update if I can. Comment by jtbdiablo Anyone else got the problem that your Artifacts always transfer back to the standard appearance after a relog? I got the hidden appearance for my prot and holy pally and everytime I relog, I'm back to the first model from the first row.

And yes, I really have these appearances, I'm not exploiting them with the bug ;-) Comment by Lacrimamorti For the Affliction hidden skin, once you loot the Grimoire of the First Acolyte and are collecting skulls, it will take you a little while. They can only be collected from humanoid mobs as part of the DANGER wardens quests which spawn randomly. I have put together a spreadsheet showing the mobs currently known to drop them or not drop them based on what I have killed and reports from others.

This is publicly editable so if you have something to add, please feel free to contribute to it. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wOsCFHbAGZToEjV1d2t-kYh1ID6stCs_BzbsgK0UhmQ/edit#gid=0 Comment by Rhodbert I have made some experiences taking Felo'melon on a walk.

Several elvish character will react to it. At the court of Farondis, Nar'thalas Nightwatcher said: "My liege! A strange mage approaches, and he/she bears the flaming blade of Nath'Remar Sunstrider." Also, not only the smith at Dalaran will want to see the weapon, but also Examiner Andoren Dawnrise, an NPC from The Reliquary located at the Reliquary camp in Aszuna.

Presumably more will do so, too, and these are not the only hidden trait effects of the Sunstrider blade. Comment by LyssaWoW Arms has been found... on the 7.1 PTR as a fairly simple quest chain that starts next to the forge in the order hall. I guess not one Arms Warrior looked there! /s Edit: Reading through the MMO champion thread it looks like it may or may not have additional triggers, or the PTR is being a PTR and behaving badly.

Some people could just talk to the NPC that resets your AP and pick up the quest, others couldn't. I guess we will see tomorrow. Comment by spartans11 This is for the vengeance demon hunter spec relic weapon, i have seen every so often some red orbs that fly in randomly from a direction, and nothing is there to use a spell like that. still trying to figure out what it does whether its a heal to us or damage to the enemy, i have had it happen both at the boss in the class hall and out in the world.

Comment by Ademptio Update for Arms Warrior: Copied from MMO-Champ. The Arms Warrior hidden artifact appearance has been hotfixed in for US servers. Talk to Master Smith Helgar in the Warrior Order Hall to start Secrets of the Axes Talk to High Overlord Saurfang in Dalaran and then return to Master Smith Helgar.

Go and duel High Overlord Saurfang in the Warrior Order Hall. Return to Master Smith Helgar and claim The Arcanite Bladebreaker Due all this I still can't get Helgar to give me the option... I am Artifact Knowledge 11 and arms is weapon 21... Feels like this whole warrior thing is busted...

Been trying to get Prot skin everyday... And now Arms skin is beeing stupid too... Many of you have also been asking about the hidden appearance for Frost Death Knights.

We’ve been trying to avoid giving out too much in the way of spoilers for these, but as it’s now the last one to be discovered, we figured we might as well give you guys a hint. This appearance is tied to a particular world boss, which hasn’t spawned yet.

Once that boss is available, we expect the appearance to be found pretty quickly. It is highly likely that the Frost DK appearance is linked to The Soultakers WB, the appearance itself is called The Dark Runeblade and the item unlocking it are the Runes of the Darkening.

The Soultakers are a trio of vrykul sent by Helya to plunder to ancient crypts of the kings. Considering the Vrykul nature of the unlock item and the appearance itself, it is highly likely that the unlock item is a drop from the WB. So now all Frost DKs will have to do is wait for the WB to become availible.

Comment by xface2face Ever since I got my Twinblades of the Deceiver hidden appearance, I've been using a WeakAuras template to track my progress towards the different colors.

Just yesterday I got the red tint (1000 PvP kills). When I equipped it, I did some world quests and my tracker didn't count any. Could this be a flaw in my tracker, or does it really not track with a different color of the hidden appearance equipped? Comment by Mazik90 I have discovered the hidden trait of the Scale of the Earth-Warder, or at least part of it. Every time I got dazed this expansion my wife kept telling me that she has yet to experience that.

After some time I realized that it might not be because she wasn't paying attention, but that her artifact might be protecting her from it. So I went on my warrior, and tested. I let a bunch of mobs hit me in the back untill I almost died while in protection spec. No daze. Went in to arms, on the same mobs. Got dazed instantly. Comment by Ekrotus I believe I have found out what the Hidden Effect for the Mistweaver Artifact is, and it's disappointing.

I'm a Mistweaver Monk main, have been since Monks were released, and so I cruised into Legion after the new changes, wondering what the hidden effect might be. Recently, I have started playing a Demonology Warlock main-alt for my Guild's Raid Group. We have another Mistweaver Monk, and I noticed that the "mist clouds" that appear around the nearby area that count as the stacks for your next Sheilun Cast are actually ONLY visible to the MW Monk!

This is exactly similar to the Affliction Warlock's Ulthalesh, whereas the "ghosts/spirits" of killed enemies get up and walk around by their corpses, which is also only visible to the actual Afflic Lock him/herself. I know, disappointing, but taking into account the similarities it has to other noted effects (charred Felo'melorn corpses, Ulthalesh Spirits, etc) I truly think the mist clouds in-world visuals are the hidden effect.

EDIT: Why the hell was this downvoted into negative without a reply? If you disagree, explain it, this is entirely valid and justified information. Don't be a moron. Comment by Geluvir Hello, Today (21/11/2016) I travelled east from Lorlathil in Val'Sharah and found a special event to help a tormented eath elemental that isn't there on my other two characters.

After it was complete, artifact power was immediately added to the Doomhammer with the message 'Doomhammer + 50 power'. Is this something that happens with all Shaman, or is the ability of the Doomhammer the ability to see and complete these special events? Thanks for your consideration! Comment by BananaBomb Someone probably already posted this.

But you can use the hidden appearances in locked specs when you unlocked another specializations hidden appearance. My mage for example, got the fire hidden pretty fast and has unlocked all the colour variations of it. Switching specc to frost or arcane, I can use all the hidden looks apart from the first one (the one of finding the hidden in teh first place).

Hence you can also progress for the dungeons completed/kills etc using another specc then the one you unlocked. Nice to know if you wanna go as healer / tank for faster queues. Comment by lylarise There's something. I'm playing Warlock at the moment and I already dropped two of my Hidden Appearances, one being Demonology, the other being Affliction. I still haven't got Destruction one, since it's an RNG one.

I farmed PvP kills for color and I was aware that I'll get Demonology even if I get my PvP kills as Affliction and that actually happened, it's all fine. However, I respecced to Destruction to check for my appearances and there it was, Legionterror's 4th option is available, which is the 1000 honorable kills one.

I immediately opened a ticket about this, if this is bug and if I'm exploiting something. I'll edit here as soon as I got a response. Edit: Quoting from GM Xaleraphon's ticket after a Live Chat; As discussed in our chat, so with this, it wouldnt be an exploit as it is just the normal mechanic of you getting credit while doing WQs or farming kills. As for it giving credit to the non gained appearance yet, I am not seeing anything that would indicate it is a bug so it should be fine to just continue as you are doing quests etc :) So, if you get your skin for any other spec and unlocked a color of it, you can respec to another one and use that artifact's hidden skin color, the one you unlocked with hidden skin, as well and it's not exploiting anything.

In example, if you dropped Mistweaver Hidden Skin and did 200 WQs with it, you can respec to Brewmaster and use its hidden skin in which is given from completing WQs and use it without any exploit chance. Hope it'll help you guys in the future! Comment by SalcN Demon Hunter can apparently get their Vengeance appearance at level 105 .. According to this guide Frost Mage should be able to as well. yet where ever I go I see people claiming that you need Artifact Knowledge level 4 as a Frost Mage - Can anyone confirm they got it below Artifact Knowledge level 4, maybe even character below level 110?

Comment by Aerodawn I can confirm that the assassination rogue's artifact makes the blacksmith in Valdisdall give you 50 AP for showing him the weapons. He says: Come here, rogue. Let me see those blades - they stink of death. Ach, I can feel their thirst. Forged in darkness these were. Many have fallen to their caress. So slender, so quick. These are not the weapons of a warrior, no, they strike from the shadows. Very well, , I am impressed.

many lives have been ended by the Kingslayers... go now, and send the weak to their end. Afterward, you will gain 50 AP. Comment by Seffie so, i found out today that completing the pvp color you can unlock that color for all of the hidden's, even the ones you haven't collected yet.

i have not collected the fury weapon appearance at all yet after completing the pvp 1000 kills with my prot hidden it unlocked the pvp color of the fury weapon...

Comment by detour211 Got a question i hope someone can answer before i go through all the trouble of doing it on 1 artifact. Will unlocking the color on 1 hidden appearance unlock that color for the others? Because i want the yellow one but i'm not about to grind out 3k kills as i hate pvp as it is -.- Comment by GerMcb For Prot Warriors -Burning Plate of the Worldbreaker.

I tried the macro, as mentioned "Run the following script and if it returns true, the hidden skin 'event' will trigger for you: /run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(44311))" while in the class hall.

It came back FALSE. I decided to check the cave anyway and as soon as I walked in I got the signal about a loud roar coming from the cave and found the shield laying against the wall as soon as I landed in the water.

The way it is mentioned in the description, it sounds like the macro will work no matter where you are... that is apparently not correct. Comment by sakera I think the Frost DK hidden appearances are in the wrong order on the pictures. The bright green one (currently pic # 2) should be first as it is the base tint. The bluish tinted one (currently # 1 pic) should be in the # 2 picture slot. I just unlocked my hidden appearance on my Frost DK and this is the order of the colours as it shows me at the Forge: Green (base) --> Blue (100 dungeons) --> Purple (200 WQs) --> Red (1k kills) Comment by Ymirjarik For anyone that's wondering (or if it hasn't been clarified before) mythic+ dungeons do NOT count towards the artifact appearances AND can actually "throw off" the number's given by the "hidden" macro.

I'm currently at 1300/100 dungeons with no artifact appearance for holy paladins. I'm to assume mythic+ dungeon count as dungeons but not as completed dungeon's given through the dungeon finder, which means you can't farm m+'s for the appearance as I've been doing...

rip Comment by Mumbungua Not sure this is of any use or not. When I'm playing my enhancement shaman sometimes I have rare markers on my mini-map noting a special encounter.

Kind of like the frost death knight deal with Arthas. There is an elemental that needs help and once I've finished helping them (usually killing a few mobs) I get 50 artifact power. I've only run into Earth elementals in Val'sharah. Not sure if each zone is different or if this is even the artifact hidden ability. Comment by Kriandis Here is a script you can use to create a Macro that you can then use to keep track of the total number of World Quests, Dungeons, and Total Kills you have done while having a Hidden Appearance equipped.

/run local _,_,_,a, b = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo(11152,1) local _,_,_,c, d = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo(11153,1) local _,_,_,e, f = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo(11154,1) print("Dungeons: "..a.."/"..b) print("WQs: "..c.."/"..d) print("Kills: "..e.."/"..f) Comment by Zlatnoto So let me get this straight... All of the classes get cool skins, fearful lights, etc. for their hidden appearance, and my arcane mage, bearing a Greatstaff, a staff with a personality, a weapon of renown...

this staff gets turned into a damn shepherd staff? Thanks, Blizz. I guess. Exactly what I wanted - to sow fear and trepidation in the hearts of demons and Horde alike with a damn sheep's head staff. They would teabag me in PvP merely for the lulz.

Hell, I would do it myself. why. Aegwynn is shaking her head sadly in the afterlife, Medivh meanwhile is laughing hysterically. Comment by Baystrup I have ONLY done the hidden artifact for Warrior Arms... but I got it for all specs I've been looking for the Skull Of Shar'thos to complete my hidden artifact for fury.. only to find out that I already have it... got it for protection aswell..

but I have done NO quests in fury/prot.. All specs are AK 35 or higher Any thoughts? Comment by Colniett "Northrend: New Hearthglen in Dragonblight, Northrend (Take the portal to Wyrmrest Temple in the Chamber of the Guardian). In the church in New Hearthglen, entrance at . Turn left when entering, and go into the second room on the left (ground floor) – it is on top of the bookshelf (See Map)." Just one thing in connection with this tome. You may can not find it if u still have the priest class hall campaig questlline wich takes place at here (so you see mobs equal to your level), when you complete the quest line wich ends with collecting the companion the mobs will go back to their normal level (70-72) and you can find the tome in the exact place where the article tells.

At least this is how I managed to find it. Good luck, have fun :) Comment by Manniala Im not sure what the heck Blizzard thought about, BM hunter just trow 8000g, and then you get your "hidden" oh yeah, not much hidden in that.

And then you look at Discipline priest, they have to fracking do like a gazillion things to get it, its like they started off with the Discipline, then it was 17.57 on a Friday just before weekend, and then !@#$ THIS, we still have the BM to go but i wont do overtime, lets just trow it in a vendor and we can all go home..

There are no freaking logic in this, its like watching some armor/transmog now, some they really thought about, and then other ah @#$% this, its Friday and i promises my kids they can play with the computer, and the kids then played with the computer for 5 mins, and some how the design got shipped off and now we have to look at that YEAK... Comment by Mahmoudh10 So it seems the script is now unnecessary. While I was on my Artifact Skin tab, when I hovered over the color variants for the hidden skin, it gave me my progress towards the achievement.

For example: Kill (500/1,000) players using a hidden artifact appearance. Actually the advantage for the script is that you can access your progress while away from the table.

Comment by DraethDarkstar As of 7.2, you want to change your tracking macro to: /run local q,x,_,a,b = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo,0 for i=1,14 do _,_,_,a,b = q(11152,i) x=x+a end local _,_,_,c,d = q(11153,1) local _,_,_,e,f = q(11154,1) print("Dungeons: "..x.."/"..b) print("WQs: "..c.."/"..d) print("Kills: "..e.."/"..f) to account for Upper and Lower Karazhan and Cathedral of Eternal Night.

Also, as of the April 12, 2017 Hotfixes, the Dungeon requirement has been lowered from 100 to 30. Comment by slavedheart Dear Blizzard: Can we please have the non-100% drops and daily rolls for hidden skins added to bad luck protection? I know it's for legendary drops, but I think it would take a bit of the sting of RNG for these as well.... or perhaps a second protection counter just for hidden? Just thoughts, I've been chasing the sub rogue since launch-ish and the s-priest/holy pally since not long after that, and it still kinda stings that my MM main just needed gold and rep.

Thanking you in advance. A tired grinder... P.s. If this sounds like a good idea, I've got a bunch more of em :) Edit: ...and just noticed in the blue posts that this was already implemented....

no wonder I got three of my appearances (arc mage, frost mage and sub rogue) in the span of 36 hours.... Comment by KrazyScarlett I'm so freaking disappointed at the BM hunter bow, looks like your sporting a toy bow, i can't stand it. I feel like all the other artifact weapons are uniquely designed, with some type of look for that class.

I would of expected the Hunter beast master would of been something of nature, animals, or something of that aspect. There's my vent..Huntress out!

=P Comment by Mmoore2434 I know this is an older guide, but for Enhancement shaman, i noticed it has the same effect as Ele, just for earth elementals. IE: across the broken isles i sometimes find a "troubled earth elemental" and clicking and talking to him will spawn a hostile rare, killing the hostile rare will give you 50 AP (ignores AK) Comment by Fikicha OK. This guide did point me in the right direction and how to unlock the hidden appearance for the Twinblades of the Deceiver and I just made it.

But there is something misleading in the guide also: 1. On my first try I flew to Downfall, because its the easiest way, killed him, but corpse was not lootable. (This one is on me I had a follower assigned). 2. On my second try i had unassigned my follower and again i flew there on my mount having Candrael's charm in my inventory and for my surprise again i killed him, but corpse wasn't lootable!

I did another try with the same tactics and I don't know why I expected a different result but nope... No luck corpse was not lootable again. Finally I succeeded when I went and spoke to Candrael Twinshadow she kicked me I killed Downfall successfully and for the first time corpse was lootable and I got the item that unlocks the appearance.(BTW: The drop rate is probably 100% because it dropped for me on the first time that hes corpse was accessible to be looted by my char.) Comment by KaneoHunter Just experience the hidden artifact ability for Doomhammer as it isn't listed here.

I was killing a mob in Highmountain while doing some herbalism, when suddenly a long line of earth spiked out the ground in front of me and went about twice my height (as a goblin) in the air.

This killed my mob, just checked Details and nothing out of the ordinary was there but in my combat log there was damage from "Landslide", anyone who has played Enhance will know Landslide is just the buff for 8% agi and deals no damage. Screenshot below of my combat log and details. Was just checking wowhead and other websites for a spell to go with it, and I can't find anything really that matches excluding the ability casted by Dargrul.

/landslide Regardless, of anything further - we have our hidden ability, and this post should be updated to reflect this! :) EDIT: Clicked the spell in my combat log, tooltip matches these: Comment by Arexx This is pure bull%^&* what the Protection Paladin has to go through to get theirs! Why can't I just get a drop in an instance?

Instead I have to endure the WORST world quest in the damn game! There's no way in hell I will get that appearance as I would rather delete my character than endure that @#$%ing annoying quest again!

>:( Comment by Zefferus For the Holy Paladin appearance, I collected mine from a world quest (Legion Invasion) on the northern shore of Stormheim where you had to use a Fel Hammer to destroy Fel Corruptors. One of the demons I killed with my Retribution Paladin happened to drop it. So, I'm not sure if it will only drop in Azsuna and Argus, with the except of Legion Invasion quests, or if it can just drop anywhere.

I personally don't want to make another paladin just to test it out. Therefore, it is up to you if you would like to further test or just put my personal experience in as well for the Holy Paladin appearance. Comment by Lorewind Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but I think I noticed the hidden effect for the brewmaster's hidden appearance, on occasion while using it you seem to get "drunk bubbles" coming up from your face, they don't seem to do anything but I've only noticed it while using the brewmaster's hidden appearance.

Comment by Unwyrden I'm not sure if it was location or quest related, but I think my Scepter of Sargeras started talking to me this morning.

I was doing the questline starting with Feline Frantic in Suramar around Irongrove Retreat and yellow text started showing up on my screen. I didn't think to get a screenshot unfortunately.

One of them was along the lines of "This place is truly beautiful...Don't worry, I'll have more for you to do soon." Could this be a hidden artifact effect? I've had NPCs comment on the power of my weapon before, but this was new to me.

Comment by BellsCall @ the resto shaman effect: Are they referring to the watery swirl effect that's constant on the weapon? that's hardly a hidden effect, it's just part of the weapon's appearance/particles.

Not only that, it's constantly present. Holding still has nothing to do with it. I can't find anything that says some special animation happens with sharas'dal. Comment by mootygrimes Hey everybody. I cleaned up the formatting and some of the phrasing related to the Disc Priest hidden appearance. The original contributor deserves all the credit. I just wanted to share the formatting and some paraphrasing I made while running through this on my second priest.

Hopefully it helps people organize their pathing by making it easier to parse. Netherlight Temple: • Chat with . Pick the middle option at every prompt. Comment by pettismargaret This is real i never believe that there still exist a real death spell caster after all this years of disappointment from the enormous spammers on the Internet who go about scamming people, until i was opportune to meet Dr Ogbefun a real spell caster, through a close friend called Jennifer who Dr ogbefun had helped before, when i contacted him with his email i explain how my ex have been giving me problem in my marriage, she never allowed me a moment of peace, and i need to end it by killing her, and i don't want to make use of assassin because it will be risky so i needed to do it in a spiritual way that's why i decided to contact him, he assured me not to worry as i have contacted the right person at the right time, i co-operated with him and in less than a week my ex was dead, she slept and never woke up all thanks to Dr Ogbefun indeed he's really a humble man.contact ogbefun for any death spell, spell for promotion at the office, you need to contact him now via email ogbefunhearlingtemple@gmail.com or add him on whatsapp +2348102574680 website
