I am unclear what this is for because I get no benefit from it. The only thing extra will be a personalized greeting; you go through the same phone tree ivr menu / voice prompts and get tossed over to the same departments reps with the same hold times. I thought you would get a live concierge or a dedicated person/team to talk to you. Not to mention the actual phone number of the elite/plus is secret, and guess what they are both the same number. Per the benefits sheet it makes it seem they are both 2 separate numbers where you get individualized service… What I would recommend is to publically publish the number as there is no difference from the regular 888 best buy number and people who are not elite/plus would not get the personalized greeting.
Or just drop it from the benefits because it feels more of a dishonest gimmick. On the other hand, you can build that out and have a dedicated team help your highest spending members with individualized service. This faux pas won’t change my spending habits with BBY, being elite/plus for many years now but I would like more transparency and honesty.
