Am saddened by the true ending of this love story. Nevertheless, you can glue yourself during those really good portions and read everything to catch the drift of what is going on. I seldom go ga ga over an actor, but Kovanc Tutlitug is not only gorgeous, but also a superb and versatile actor. It just made me pity Murvet. Sura died in 1966, she was berried in California by her mother. I also love Celid and especially Tatya, his sweet ballerina fiancee, because of her generosity and hospitality toward a beautiful Turkish girl who had secretly loved him and thought his name was Seyit, was one of my favorite parts. I relate on a very personal level, having been through an equally forbidden yet different ethnic story with a very sad outcome that I will lament forever.
I heard though that there is a second book, does anyone know about this? Nothing will ever be what Downton Abbey, , fill-in-your-favorite-here was to me! Has anyone made it to the end yet? I have not fallen in love with any other movie since Gone with the Wind…. Their love for each other. Like My wife and I watched this series binge for 2 weeks and it fascinated and mesmerized us just like everyone else in the forum. Is it really true that Kurt Seyit committed suicide over not being able to marry Sura?? I recommend to you other foreign shows I found on Netflix, two Spanish telenovas. I found out after watching the entire series that it was based on a true story so now I have an excuse to watch it all over again and with friends and family! He had promised that they would always be together. Could not have asked for better casting. If this is really how it all ends, damn it just did a number on me.

I would give anything to read the book, but am having difficulty finding it in English. I feel more educated for having watched it. Yes I would have loved to see a different ending too, but again, its a story, even if real, life happens that way.
